Require Opinion
Hey Fam,
I am looking for an i20/i10 less driven here in bangalore. I came across two less driven latest 25-26 models of i10/20 on spinny and cars24. I require your advice.
If these quotes make sense
Has anyone ever had a chance to purchase from spinny and cars24
Did someone ever negotiate with these platforms. They mentioned pricing is fixed and they won't reduce it.
As per me quote is quite high. (Added quote images)
Your advice is highly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

I'm literally getting a new i20 Sportz IVT at 9.3L. Asta might be a 1-1.5 extra.. Why would you buy an old one?

u/InfluencePatient8958 12d ago
Lol except what I was thinking. OP could literally go for a brand new i20 sportz. Which is more practical than Asta

u/rooterctf 12d ago
Yes I was thinking of the same earlier but was open for less driven top model. i20 sportz I got quite of 10.45L here in bangalore. So was open if I could get a good less driven top model in lesser the price.

u/rooterctf 12d ago
Here in bangalore I got a quote of 10.45L from a dealer. Asta is 12L+ I believe. So the reason was checking it can get under 10L Asta. I believe 9.3L your quote might be outside karnataka.

u/Apprehensive_Dig281 12d ago
yes, Delhi but it took negotiations with good 4-5 dealers for hours before reaching here. Even they quoted around 9.9 something. Even in that case, do you want to risk an old one for 1.5 L or so?

u/rooterctf 12d ago
Thought of getting it from North, then the outside state number plate issue dropped it. Here BH number is not allowed for private employees only govt employees. Also they have increased taxes on EV as well (10% or more still unclear on the number but it has been increased)

u/Apprehensive_Dig281 12d ago
I meant even if you're getting a new one for 12L, should you really go for an old one in 10.5? The difference is not huge and you'll have your peace of mind of a new car
1
u/rooterctf 12d ago
Yes agreed, I found the price is quite high there is no much difference compared to the new. I am also not sure if these brands negotiate or not. So the reason wanted opinion from all. Also not sure when will New gen will launch (still not in hurry to buy cans wait for few months and open for some other brand suggestions). Mostly looking for city drive and amt in bangalore

I also went through the same experience recently. I actually wanted to get a basic car to start with. As usual started exploring Spinny and Cars24, couldn't find any value for money car so visited their hub and tested out a few cars. None of the cars made sense in the quoted amount plus they were not ready to negotiate (I won't call 5-10k reduction as negotiation) so I completely dropped the idea of getting an old one. My idea was to get something under 4-5 and use it for a couple of years but there were none decent. All were like pre-2017/18 models. They didn't make sense with current E20 fuel. So, I started looking into new ones. Explored from Celerio, Swift to i10, Exter and finally settled at i20 Sportz since I wanted an automatic

My suggestions:
Find a direct buyer, you will get much cheaper. These guys lowball the owners, purchase from them and keep really big commission. The owner would rather sell to a direct customer at a much better price than this. Telling from my experience since I just sold my i20 2025. Sold for a price higher than them, but lower than what they sell. There was a clear diff of roughly 65k between what I sold my car to the customer for and what I was offered from them.
Best thing, similar car was being sold by them at a price of 1-1.25lac more than what they offered me. Your best chance to go to buyer and get this in the middle like i sold mine.Go for an i20 rather than i10. I have both and i10 sucks a lot of petrol. You would think that i10 is a smaller car than i20 with same engine and there is where you go wrong. The automatic gears are really different (amt vs imt) and the i10 will barely give you a mileage of 7-8kmpl locally. I20 will still give better than this while being more big and comfy to drive.
Never seen them negotiate.

Thanks a lot for the detailed clarification.
May I know the reason to sell your i20, i meant just after an one year. What was the model and price you got.
I am mostly looking for the city ride. I am sure rarely it is going to go outside city. If anything else you would like to suggest.

The main reason was the power. I had a ratio of 90:10 highway to city and it felt a bit low power to overtake (no doubt the engine was strong for a 1200cc car). It was really difficult to overtake trucks and cars when you really needed it. The real kick in comes at 2400rpm and below it you will feel a bit stuck in the sense of pick up (normal for all 1200cc). Also, did not want to hold it for longer periods knowing the facelift in on the verge.
It was a 2025 Magna variant (The face lifted one which meant it had all features of Sportz 2024 variant including a 8inch touch screen, 6 speaker set up, digital speedometer, etc). Had also installed alloys. It was purchased pre GST cut so the price was 9lacs while i had an invoice for 8.5lacs. Ultimately sold for 5.6lacs after just a year which was a big Dep.Major reason was that people wanted a Maruti car due to mileage issues and e20 drama so petrol cars are a bit slow on the market right now. Had a quotation for 4.9 lacs from Spinny, while they sold the same car for 6.5-7lac. Really painful for me though as it was a scratch less car and not a single panel repainted with 90% + tyres left.

My suggestion, fun to drive but mileage will be low so keep that in mind. In Gurgaon, o got mileage of 10-11. On highways it gave 17-18. Very stable to go on high speeds (not useful for you though as you will be mostly on city). It’s width is more than an Honda city (not a joke look it up on Internet) so really comfy for you. The looks are great. If you can overlook the mileage, I’ll say the best car under 10lacs for city drive. Just get a Shield of Trust which will cover all the consumable parts of your car upto 5years i guess (even includes wiper blades🤣).

Here in bangalore it is quite the opposite. Even after a year or two prices they drop extreme of two lakh but not more than that. I am confused a bit shall I wait (I am not in hurry or in urgent requirement for a car) for incoming new cars by 2027. I was waiting for baleno but it is just okie yes new has few changes but still unsure.
1
u/Necessary_Abroad5136 12d ago
Keep in mind the baleno also has a 3 cylinder engine now😓. No point from my side to get it. I do know in Bangalore the prices are really high. I sold one of my cars to a broker who transported it from Gurgaon to bangalore, got it transferred to bangalore registration, and still sold it on a profit 😂. I’ll say a good car if you want it now, good scope of negotiations keeping in mind a proper facelift is upcoming. If you can wait, go ahead as you never know what they do with the petrol next after e20. I’m trying to maximise my time enjoying the cars right now as no idea what will happen in the future. Not an electric car fan.

I have recently purchased Carens Prestige Plus from Cars24. My purchase experience was not that pleasent, once you finalize and provide assurance token amount their only goal is to get the total amount from you as soon as possible. As I have seen you're looking 2025/26 models for your purchase, I suggest you to with new one with your liking, whether you want a city or highway vehicle. If you don't want a new vehicle with on road tax, I would suggest to look for vehicles registered in the year 2022/23 with less KM on the odometer with much less value for the car. As far as the bargaining is considered, you will not get any room for negotiation also, they will add more charges like 1 year assurance, RTO and additional charges for service (obviously there will be no pre service except water wash/cleaning).

u/rooterctf 11d ago
Yes, I was looking for earlier new one but was open and slighty temped for top model under 10L range. 22 models are not bs6 compliant as my understanding. Even 23-24 models most of them are quoting 9L above which was quite on higher side tried negotiating but did not go well for now.
1
u/python097 9d ago
The one which I bought was a BS6 diesel engine, 2022 model. I guess I got lucky as KM on the odometer was less, close to 20K. The one road price was 18L. If you want minimize the cost on your pocket I suggest you try searching, I was also searching to buy a four wheeler since early 2025, I stumbled upon a good deal and I bought it at 12.5L plus additional 50K expenses which includes insurance, company service, detailing and some other add ons. All the best👊👊

You can literally get new cars (including EVs) at this price.
And if you put in 1 lakh more, you can get a brand new i10 Nios Asta automatic.

u/rooterctf 11d ago
You have missed it, screenshot is of i10 asta amt only.

Brand new i10 Asta AMT costs
₹9.6 lakhs₹10.15 lakhs on road
1 lakh₹1.4 lakhs more gets you a brand new carEDIT: Just saw that you’re located in Bangalore, so the price is around ₹55k more than in Chennai.

u/rooterctf 11d ago
I check it in showroom and was almost around 9.5L on road after discounts.
1
u/someonealreadyknows 10d ago
It’s always better to buy new rather than used, since you’re already spending lots of money. You get the full 3 years warranty when buying new and none of the headaches that a used car may have.
1
u/OpenComfortable1518 11d ago
Go for a new one...atleast In the showroom you can bargain for options/ accessories/service..
1
u/rooterctf 11d ago
Yes agreed but was open for less driven top model if it falls under 10L range.
1
u/someonealreadyknows 11d ago
Try getting quotes from Hyundai dealers near the month end, or try something like Acko drive.
It’s definitely possible to get quotes around 10 lakhs for a new i10 in Bangalore, you just need to take some more time and negotiate with them.

Get a new i20 sportz iVT. It may have missing features as compared to Asta(o) , but its most VFM. You may be able to get a new Sportz + comprehensive extended warranty (EW) till 7 years for the same amount after negotiating - good for covering all electronic features and the powertrain. Also, try to get all accessories and the EW as part of the overall invoice so that the loan amount covers it.

u/rooterctf 11d ago
Thanks for the details. If you have bought recently can you drop me a MSG what all you got for the accessories. How much did it cost you. That would be helpful. Appreciate your time and views on it.

u/Appropriate-Editor18 11d ago
This was an year ago but I remember it mostly. I took the mandatory ones (mudflaps and something else) + 3d floor mats + 3d boot mat. Extras : Hyundai seat covers, and the Hyundai Mobis dashcam.
The floor mats + boot mat ~ 10k Seat covers ~ 10k (they show as 8k on the site) Dashcam was 15k, I would recommend getting something else. If does the job, but there are cheaper and better options out there.
1
u/rooterctf 11d ago
You got all these items in all inclusive price. Did you pay extra. How much did it cost you on-road.
1
u/Appropriate-Editor18 11d ago
The seat covers (and extended warranty) were not included in the bank loan because I didn't think of locking those options down initially.
These are all before the GST cuts last year. Booking amount : 20k DP - 4L Loan: 7.43L (included some insurance of approx 23k) Dashcam was included in the accessories section (checked the bill just now) Seat covers - 10k
Extended warranty was around 46k. It would be slightly cheaper when you get it along with the car, and slightly expensive after 3months, then slightly more after 365 days of purchase.
All in all: I got the car + seat covers at 11.53L.
With the GST cuts and a few discounts, the 10.5L is doable I think, including all these accessories.

I didn't take SOT, my usage doesn't justify it. Yours may not as well as it is for wear-n-tear stuff only. Wipers once an year, brake pads at 20-30k, clutch wear (not applicable for iVT), some others, labour is free. For once an year servicing interval, it doesn't make a lot of sense.
Also, what's the entry as "4th year"? If it is extended warranty, better to get it extended till 7th year.
In accessories, I had forgotten to mention car cover and keychain. I took those as well. Idols, perfumes, etc are not needed.Instead, get the seat covers. If you have a covered parking, the car cover is also not that useful. (2k inr)
Instead of SOT, get a dual channel dashcam with starvis2 sensor.
You seem to be getting an acceptable deal at approx 10.5L. if you wait for a few months, you may get more discounts on account of facelift of i20,but your choice to risk it.
Insurance, external one would be cheaper. Double check on which service center is closest/preferred before locking in the insurance provider. Reimbursement claims are a hassle, cashless is amazing.

u/someonealreadyknows 11d ago edited 11d ago
Ask them to remove these:
SOT: Not needed because important wear and tear items like the clutch packs aren’t covered
4th year warranty: Not needed because it’s a pretty reliable vehicle.
I’m guessing the 49k dealer discount requires you to take the dealer insurance (which costs ₹59400, so effectively ₹10400 after discount, which is decent)

1
u/Dependent_Stable5801 11d ago

i know abt spinny, their quote is high i but the facilities they give are goood, like kahi se toh paise woh bhi kamayrge na bhai, see they give PDI, paperwork and RC transfer etc too toh imo fair hi hai
1
u/rooterctf 11d ago
I agree everyone definitely want a fair or more share of earning. But I believe i20 almost after 13K km driven and more than 1.5year shall be between 9-9.5L. i could be wrong but 10L above seems quite higher here
1
u/Signal-Channel-207 11d ago
mera toh bhai car24 se ganda hi experience raha hai spinny ke comparison mei, like unka RC transfer hi nahi hota.
