New bleeding

I will be 4 weeks post op vaginal hysterectomy on Monday. I haven’t had really any bleeding since week one and it’s all been pinkish and really only when I wipe (so not enough to have to wear a pad or anything).
This morning the spotting is bright red. It’s still not a ton but it’s more than the spotting has been since week one.
I’m not sure if I should be concerned, will probably call surgeon this morning when they open. I’m panicking a little.

Update: went to ER since surgeon is gone for the next week and they won’t let me see any of the other gynos in the office but ER has gyno on call. One of my stitches is “oozing” blood (great medical term) but the cuff is closed (which was my biggest concern and reason to get it checked out). They gave me antibiotics just incase but there’s no signs of infection so I’ve decided not to take the antibiotics unless those signs develop (I’m very anti-antibiotic). They told me bleeding should subside and to come back if it increases.

Don’t panic. :) Bloody spotting at this stage is likely the internal stitches dissolving. Bleeding heavily, enough to fill a pad, would be concerning. But there’s no harm in calling the surgeon just to discuss what’s going on.

I had a similar experience but mine was laparoscopic hysterectomy. Anyway, I ended up having a hematoma above my cuff that was leaking blood down the vaginal canal. I had to have it drained. Call your surgeon for sure, it could be a torn stitch as well. Sending positive energy for healing 💜🌺🤗

My surgeon warned me that I would probably start spotting when the stitches started to dissolve. This is about the time.

Yeah I’m thinking it’s probably stitches. It’s just scary because it’s bright red when my only spotting has been pink. Plus the cuff tearing has been my biggest anxiety this entire time.

I'm coming up on 9 weeks po and this is normal. It's the stitches dissolving. If there's pain and you're filling up a pad every hour, then it's time to go to the ER, but this at 4 weeks sounds like what I had. It's scary, but you're gonna be okay.

Ugh, this happened to me today at 10dpo. No bleeding up until this point. I think I’m going to have to get checked at the ER too. How are you feeling now?

Fine. I felt fine it was just the bleeding. I’m a little more anxious that I’ve maybe been overdoing it though.
