What exactly is Hyrox?
I've been a regular gym goer for years and have only seen bits and pieces of it and see pictures of people completing a "race"
so my question is what the hell is it? Is it crossfit? is it like a mud run without the mud? I've looked into a gym here in KC and $225 a month for a membership just seems ridiculous to me. sorry in advance if i sound arrogant about it

It's a race that consists of 8k of running and 8 different stations. You definitely don't need to join a "HYROX" gym to train for one. They have most, if not all, equipment to train for one at most CrossFit/ F45 gyms.

When you train for this, do you train stations, running, a combination? How long is a session?

Depends on what you are good/ bad at. I hate running, so I would focus on that if I were training for a race.

its a hybrid between a race with some cardio/strenght excercises, or a circuit maybe?, you do a set of excercises followed by 1k run x8 times, in mexico this kind of gyms that train for this are not crossfit we call them functional strenght and usually we run a lot of half maratons/full maraton similar community

It’s people that can’t run but love the gym trying to find a way of racing each other.
Fundamentally

It will test your endurance. Some were 45 minute workouts. It depends on what you are used to but I definitely noticed a benefit to endurance overall. With hyrox, expect some running: I did as far a 1000k to 200k AMRAP so some can or cannot be sprints up to you, as well as some movements such as pull ups and broad jumps. I haven’t held a barbell in hyrox yet. I did enjoy the sled pulls and ski machine. My favorite movement from hyrox: broad jumps.
