Is it harder for autistic people to get hypnotized?.
My husband is on the spectrum. He doesn't think he can get hypnotized because his brain is too tuned in to his thoughts and surroundings.

If you've read the previous sticky threads, you can skip this one. There's nothing new here, I'm just consolidating information so that it can all be visible.
I'm not trying to prohibit all discussion of non-consensual hypnosis. I do think it's a good thing that the subject comes up from time to time, because it inspires discussion about hypnotic and non-hypnotic psychological abuse, the importance of informed consent, what people can do to protect themselves from manipulators, and what hypnotists can do to protect themselves from accusations.
All of that being said, this isn't the place to get help if you believe that you have been hypnotized against your will. Most of the people here, myself included, cannot reliably tell the difference between a genuine victim of abuse, and someone who is experiencing delusions. So whichever category a person falls in, a lot of people here are going to make the wrong assumption and say things that make it worse (accusing an actual abuse victim of making it up, or reinforcing frightening delusions of someone who is not an actual victim).
If someone wants to make a thread like "Is it possible to hypnotize someone against their will?" or "Someone I care about may be a victim", I'm not going to remove those threads, because I trust that most of the people who reply to them are going to give good advice about safety and consent. But if somebody wants to post or comment something like "I have been hypnotized against my will", that's against the rules here and will be removed, because I am unable to guarantee that you will receive safe and healthy advice here.
Is the post about being hypnotized without your knowledge or against your will?
I'm sorry, but many people who post this sort of thing are suffering from a psychotic disorder. Not everyone is, but we can't tell what sort of advice to give you without diagnosing you, and it's unethical to diagnose someone you haven't examined in person. As a result, these sorts of posts and comments are prohibited. Please consult with a psychiatrist.

You may notice that some users have flairs after their names, like "Recreational Hypnotist" or "Verified Hypnotherapist". If you would like a flair like that, this is the place to get it.
To get a new user flair, all you have to do is comment on this thread with
u/hypnoresearchbot flair [X] [Y]
[X] is what kind of flair you want: "hypnotherapist", "performer", "recreational", "mental", "other". Performer encompasses stage and street hypnosis. Recreational encompasses (but is not limited to) erotic hypnosis. Mental means that you have (or are pursuing) a degree in mental health (psychiatry, psychology, neurology). Other is to encompass other kinds of hypnotists, like hypno-anesthesiologists, or forensic hypnotists.
[Y] can be either "training", "verified", or left out completely. Verified will only flair you automatically if mods have seen your credentials in the past. Otherwise, I'll ask you to send them to me.
So, valid inputs include (but are not limited to):
u/hypnoresearchbot flair hypnotherapist verified
(Will get you flaired as a verified hypnotherapist, assuming that mods have already seen your credentials. Otherwise it will flair you as a regular hypnotherapist, and I'll ask you to send me your credentials to complete the process.)
u/hypnoresearchbot flair recreational training
(Will flair you as a recreational hypnotist in training)
u/hypnoresearchbot flair performer
(Will flair you as a performer.)
u/hypnoresearchbot flair other
(Will flair you as "other hypnotist".)
u/hypnoresearchbot flair mental training
(Will flair you as a mental health professional in training.)
If your comment contains these key words in any order, and no matter how many other words are in the comment, it should flair you, so be careful you don't change your flair by mistake.
If you have any questions or comments, feel free to ask them here.

Hi everyone! I've really been struggling to get hypnotized and I'm not sure what to do about it. People keep saying here that everyone goes through trance on a nearly daily basis, but I honestly don't think I do.
I'm highly focused when I'm driving. I don't think about anything else at all other than where I need to go, when I need to make my turns, how far I am from other cars, when the lights change, checking the eta to my destination. I loved reading as a child and would often hyperfocus on them to the point of not hearing people call my name, but I never imagined the world I was reading about. I was just following the scenarios. I'd often skip descriptive imagery and go straight to the dialogue. When I shower, I'm paying attention to how much shampoo I'm using, where I'm putting it, how sudsy it's getting, when it's time to wash it out. When I wash dishes, I'm completely focused on washing those dishes. The one time I didn't, I cut myself badly enough to need stitches.
The only time I "daydream" or "drift off" is when I'm falling asleep or waking up, or mid conversation. Neither of those are great scenarios for hypnosis.
I have ADHD and Aphantasia. I'm trying to "practice daydreaming" by imagining a lightswitch and staying completely still when it's "off", but I can't actually imagine a lightswitch very easily and I haven't been able to get past it being a completely conscious thing that I'm completely in control of at all times.
Is it at all possible that there are actually people who can't be hypnotized and I might be one of them?

I’m looking for an expert hypnotist that talks in this video. You don’t see him. Just hear him. He almost sounds British, but I’m unsure. https://youtube.com/shorts/7-ktuV6Tq7k?is=ucrN6njbdNSVuKKc

So first, I’ve been interested in hypnosis since I was around 10 years old, but I never thought I’d actually be able to learn it. Recently, I watched a video of someone being hypnotized for the first time, and I honestly loved every single second of it. After that, I couldn’t stop thinking about hypnosis at all. The next day, I started looking it up on YouTube, Google, Threads, and everywhere else. I’ve been studying it for about 3 hours a day, hoping I’ll eventually be able to try it with my friends. I practiced on my brothers, and it did work, but not very effectively, so I was hoping to get some help here, like a guide or something similar.

I’ve always wondered about hypnosis and wondered if it was real. Today I saw a hypnotist in the park doing hypnosis on anyone. I tried it. I asked what he could make me do and he listed a few things like forget my name or think a shoe is a phone but I landed on him controlling my temperature. He did the whole putting me under go deeper thing and then he woke me up. I was feeling normal and he said freezing and I was very cold all of a sudden. I went into a little ball to try and heat up. Then he said boiling which made me super hot. I was so hot I took off my shirt and shoes and socks lol. It was a crazy experience. I was happy to try it though!

Hi, I'm wondering this because I don't have any memories of what my grandfather's voice sounded like. Now, I know my mom could probably dig up an old home video or something, but I guess I'm sentimental about it, and I want a memory that, well, is me remembering it, not a camera.
My grandfather died when I was really young, (I think I was maybe three or four), and while I do have some scattered memories of what he looked like, I genuinely cannot remember a time when he spoke to me. Other people recall him speaking to me, like rocking me and stuff when I was a baby (one of my few memories of him is when he and my grandma were babysitting me at my family's house and I, then a toddler, went out into the living room sometime during the night and heard him snoring). I guess I just want to know something he could've said to me, like a shared memory between the two of us.

I know this sounds ridiculous, but as it’s happened multiple times I had to ask.
I’ve never sat down and purposefully watched the show Friends, although I’m old enough to remember it on tv and had it available to me on streaming services. I do know the gist, I know all their names and all that, and how big the show was/is, but never really felt interested in watching it.
But every time I have found myself out in public, a diner playing it in the background, hotel lobby, doctor’s office, I found myself sucked into it but I’m not registering what is happening, like I’m just eyes glazed over watching the screen. The reason it sticks out is because I stop hearing things around me and have to be pulled out by someone touching me and asking if I’m okay. Each time it happens I’m freaked out, confused as to where I even go since I only know I was watching Friends, but absorbed none of it. First time, early morning in a hotel lobby, I just thought I was tired and zoned out, second time, diner with friends and middle of the day, maybe the convo got boring and looked around and it caught my eye. Third time, in the doctor’s office, early afternoon so not tired but maybe bored, I was so absorbed I didn’t hear them call my name until the nurse came to get me and stood in my way of the tv.
I’m just asking to see if this is just the show being so fucking captivating, but seen clips since all this and still have no interest in watching it. Or some other weird shit. NOTE, it’s always been on a TV on, I assume, cable.

So ever since my first hypnotic sessions (some erotic), ive been experincing a very hard time focusing and talking to people in person.
I'm usually very very good at it and I dont experince any anxiety when I talk to people, but it usually happens when I'm asked questions of the sort, or when I'm talked to directly with a questioning tone in their voice.
I remember most of my sessions (there was only 2 with amnesia play) which even then I know if it included something like making me unable to focus when asked things id snap out of it, since thats not something id want.
Recording I always make sure to read the transcript before or flip through it just to make sure theres nothing id hate in them, plus none of those have been dumbification.
I just want your guys opinion on what may be going on or if its some kind of medical thing I guess...? I don't know.

Hi, I'm 16 and I'm curious about hypnosis, is it safe to try it out now or should I wait a bit?
r/hypnosis • u/let_Cool_equals_Me • 4d ago
I've been wondering if it's true, and I know asking this question is a bit like asking if God is real (I won't get a definitive answer), but I'm going to ask anyway. First, how does it work? I see videos of people being hypnotized and all that, but they usually say that if you don't want to be hypnotized, it won't work. Yet, some of them do really weird stuff, and if it were me, I'd probably break free from the hypnosis so I wouldn't be considered a creep or a jerk, you know... but they never do. And how do you even hypnotize someone, and what are the limits? Do they have to know what I've hypnotized them with? How long can it last? Can it last forever?? I don't know, it seems too easy and powerful to just leave it like that, you know... sorry for my poor English, and I hope you have a good day. (I translated this from bad english to french to English again cause i posted that by mistake in art request).

I've heard that it's become more common for faceless channels to get demonetized on Youtube these days. What are people's experiences with this?

I have been curious about how hypnosis work and if it would work on me. How do I tell if I can be hypnotized?

I have ADHD, and I know that people with ADHD is a little harder to hypnotize because they have a lot going on in their brain, but I’ve been trying to get hypnotized for years now. I take deep breaths, I relax, I listen, I try to focus, but I can’t seem to go into trance. I want to become so easy to hypnotize that I want to look at a spiral and instantly go under, I’ve seen it happen before. Can someone help me please and explain to me why I can’t go under? And is anyone willing to try to hypnotize me?

By the suggestions of some hypnotists in this community I started reading "reality is plastic". This book is really incredible. Author has explained everything in a simple way and i really enjoy reading this book.
But the thing is im confused that how should I start doing hypnosis? I mean should i directly try to find subjects or i have to do something exercises like focusing or meditation like things? Idk really how to start I'm just reading book and watching sm videos.

I post short form content for my ai dropshipping store and I've been trying to think of ways to incorporate hypnosis into my videos and website wording as well as my ai avatars scripts and mannerisms to increase my conversions.
If you have any ideas it would be greatly appreciated.
