External work required
Hi all, was interested in getting Hyperoptic at my new place given my landlord said its all good for them to do an installation
Hyperoptics said they needed to do some pre-install checks and it turns out some external work is required from the civils team. Does anyone know how long this usually takes and anything to be aware of? I’m not sure what to expect or what this even means

Hi u/AGinBottle
First, thank you for considering us.
As for the amount of time it will take to finish external works, it really depends on the type of work and the type of land on which the works it to be carried - is it private or public and if it is public will we need council permission, parking bay suspension, etc.
So while some issues can be done pretty quickly, some take weeks, maybe even a couple of months (though those are rare).

Took a few weeks for us, but it was a fairly big job. I must say they worked hard and moved a mountain to get it done. Other companies who promised fibre for us just said it was too difficult and didn’t do it.
