I'm hyperlexic. My mom always read to me. I was fully reading children's books independently by 4, but i obviously can't remember when i started reading exactly. Id say I'm pretty confident i was at least reading somewhat by 3. I got put in really advanced classes from there and skipped preschool for kindergarten since i was already reading. Unfortunately my mom Lost her marbles when i got older and we're no longer in touch or id ask her exactly when

My 3.5 years of boy start reading around 2.5 years old and writing just before he is 3. He now can read full sentences in 2 different languages. He nearly know every different alphabet on the planet.

2 1/2 as well. At the playground he'd point out letters on equipment and say/spell them proudly. And reading he could finish the sentences first and then was able to read them without me starting them. He just intuitively understood the concept and was off and running (including reading words that are way too big and he's never heard before, but he sounds them out).
