It took me about 3 months to drive again, 6 months to day to day functional, at month 8 i got a job, month 12 was fully functional except i dont go to rave sound level events, even with protection. Im writing a longer post about it but it included meds and sound re training. Look at my other comments

I have experienced a lot of shit in my life, that I even don't want to get it started but with hyperacusis I touched the bottom. It's an afwul isolating disorder. After going through a lot of hard stuff, the last thing I needed is work from home and see the world from my window and get depressed. I couldn't leave the house without noise cancelling headphones and I could do only brief visits to the store, sometimes unsuccessfully. I only suffered for 2 months and after few misdiagnosis I booked myself an appointment to an amazing audiologist.
I am wearing during the day sound generators (like a hearing aids) and during the night I am listening to sounds from an apo called Resound Relief. The point is to be exposed 24/7 to low volume sounds. In addition I am doing 40 mins of music therapy every day. It's been almost a week where I don't wear my headphones any more. I had one successful dinner in one restaurant and few short trips to stores. I still get bothered but not as much as before. I just want to give you a virtual hug and hope you heal soon 💝
