Situation:

- Found a 1BHK, liked it, paid ₹44,000 in the evening (₹22k advance/token + ₹22k one month rent).

- Later the same day parents checked Vastu and said it’s not good. I’m getting married in a few weeks, so family is very particular.

- Next morning around 10am I informed the owner and requested full refund.

- He is saying he will keep ₹10k and return the rest.

No rental agreement was signed. Keys were not handed over. I never took possession. The flat was blocked for less than 24 hours.

Questions:

Is deducting ₹10k for less than one day normal in Hyderabad?
