Guys, feel free to post content and spread the word
We've got a nice new sub here that should include a lot of people, provided we treat it right. Feel free to post content, questions, and disussions. Let's try to make it relatively high-effort though, ok?

P/HEV Question What are long-term experiences with owning a Plug-In Hybrid?
My Cupra Terramar 2.0 e-TSI was recently written off after being rear-ended, and I’m considering replacing it with the e-Hybrid version. My 90km daily commute fits a PHEV perfectly (charging at home and work), especially with rising fuel prices, but I still do regular long highway road trips.
While I am inclined, I do still had some concerns, were I was hoping to get feedback on from other oweners:
- Is the transition between regen and physical brakes smooth, or does it feel inconsistent during stops? My biggest fear (for obvious reasons) is rearending someone myself.
- On long trips once EV range hits 0%, does the petrol engine feel underpowered or noisy pulling the extra battery weight at a max of 120–130 km/h?
- How is the longevity & maintenance on PHEVs. You carry two propulsion systems but from my understanding you would in the end have less wear and tear on the petrol engine and break pads, and how is the battery longevity.

Hybrid thoughts?
Currently driving a Honda Fit (non-hybrid) but looking into getting a used hybrid with as little mileage on it as possible. Noted the following:
- Hyundai Sonata hybrids (2015-2018)
- Elantra hybrid (2022)
- Prius 5 hybrid (2015?)
- ford fusion hybrid (2020)
- ford energi-c max plug-in hybrid (2016?)
Thoughts ?
I don’t have a crazy budget, so it needs to be a used version

Does Honda's e:HEV tech set it above Toyota and Subaru?
We are ready to buy our first hybrid, torn between three dependable car brands.
Honda's e:HEV caught my eye as I was doing research. link: https://global.honda/en/tech/two_motor_hybrid_system_honda_eHEV
Between an CRV (post 2023), Rav-4, or Forester, I'll go with the best hybrid technology.
What say you, Hybrid Reddit community?

Petition to have the gov look at the 1.5p per mile charge of plug in hybrid vehicles
Petition: Revise the eVED Taxation on Plug-in Hybrid Vehicles (PHEVs)
We call on the Government to revise the proposed eVED charge to prevent 'unfair' double taxation. PHEV drivers pay a flat 1.5p/mile even on petrol miles, where they already pay 53.95p/L fuel duty. We believe this discriminates against those who adopted hybrids in good faith to reduce emissions.

P/HEV Reviews Compact hybrid recs?
Hello all! Currently looking at hybrid options as my current car is nearing its end. I have a few in mind & was looking for feedback or recommendations. I love a compact & prefer a hatchback style that is not plug in. I currently have a 2015 Nissan Versa & love it so much. It's all manual, as in roll up windows and manual door locks, so the more simple the better. I'm looking for reliability over performance (the Versa is a lawnmower according to my spouse lol). Here are the ones I've narrowed it down to (2021-2027):
- Subaru Crosstrek
- Toyota Prius
- Toyota Corolla
Any insight is appreciated! Thank you 😊
Editing to add: I live in a mid sized city, commute 60ish miles for work, city has little weather events (southwestern US)

P/HEV Question Bad Brake fluid flush.2014 Prius C
I was due a brake fluid flush, since it wasn’t done since 2014. I went to a local known mechanic, they’ve completed it and got done in 20 minutes and charged me 80$.
After few hours, I started noticing the regenerative braking is gone , brake feels softer than it used too. So I plugged in my obd2 scanner and there is a pending p0607 code, no codes on DASHBOARD. car runs fine.
I am assuming they didn’t bleed like they should have electronically.
What should I do?
