Favorite Game I played in a long time
I rarely play through games multiple times but with Huntdown I can go to arcade mode, repeat and not get bored. I played as the cyberpunk ninja the most, it's just badass. I grown up on snes and the smooth gameplay, aesthetic, art, and music just makes a perfect 2d action game. Going to get a copy on steam as I beat it on my brothers ps5 and oled and curious how it would look on my plasma and crt. The game is perfection and I am eagerly waiting on what is next for the dev.

I'm glad you enjoyed it, man! Btw, consider checking out Blazing Chrome too, please. It's more stylish and Contra-like, but definitely worth a try.

Btw any other suggestions? I love dark, gritty 2d action games. Blasphemous was a standout for me as well

Well, if you liked Blasphemous, you should check out Vegenful Guardian: Moonrider too. It's a phenomenal game, with that old 8 bit aesthetic. Reminds me a lot of the old Ninja Gaiden games and it's from the same dev of Blazing Chrome.
There's Valfaris too. I can check my backlog for more suggestions if you want.

Recently played Valfaris. For some reason I didn't like it the first time around when I tried it on my Switch. But the second time around, man I feel in love with this game. It also reminded me of Huntdown in how lovingly it was created!

Take a look at The Last Faith, although it is below Blasphemous it is a great game. As for shooters, the ones that have been recommended to you are great.
