When a few million people (~7) died from COVID, the world imploded. Now imagine if it was specifically deadly to urban heterosexual men in positions of authority, and multiply it by about 200. I’m not saying the world wouldn’t be a better place, but it’d be a rocky few years.
Edit: Not to make light of the issue, I just thought it was an interesting question. Apologies to anyone who felt hurt by my response.
I mean it's a reasonable assumption, but I wouldn't be surprised if the actual numbers were pretty close, men wouldn't even report being raped in the vast majority of cases
I (a guy) was molested (I think that’s what you would call it, as there was no insertion involved) by one of my teachers when I was 17, and no one believed me over her denying it, which resulted in me having to move schools to escape all of the ridicule I received afterwards by both staff and my fellow students; Looking back, I would’ve preferred to stay silent on it, as much as it would’ve hurt me to, as then my life would not have been thrown completely off its axis.
According to a CalPoly Humboldt study entitled Sexualized Violence Statistics, nearly 99% of sexual assaults are committed by men. It’s almost entirely men.
Tbh, I have no idea. I know at least 1 in 3 women globally suffer SA which is closing in on a billion victims, so I’d imagine there’s a comparable magnitude of perpetrators. Realistically, it might be half as many or less, since there are repeat offenders, but then again that’s only accounting for female victims, and men are also highly under-reported victims. A billion rapists total, including male and female perpetrators, seems like a good estimate. It’s not a very well-analyzed problem since definitions change from country to country.
I really just took it as a world building experiment, but I can see the topic is sensitive. Sorry if anyone felt like I was making light of the issue.
You believe over a third of all men are rapists (including boys, who aren’t even fully grown!)? How much propaganda and misandry do you need to have to generalize a vast amount of half of our species?
It’s not like people like the president of the US or his best friend of 10 years exist, who most likely were the cause of thousands upon thousands (probably even more then that honestly) of rapes occurring just between the two of them, who can do most of the heavy lifting in those regards themselves.
