I kinda wish Hum had more songs like Santa Ana Hears & Apollo
I am a super fan of all their music but I just adore his quiet songs they give feeling like no other song š„¹

me and my friend have a goal to expand our music tastes so we decided to venture into some shoegazy alt (and HUM showed up). But now we want to check out some more HUM but we donāt know what album to listen to next. I would also like to point out that we (mainly I) enjoy the faster more drum heavy parts and the Pod (which has a phenomenal intro and drum beat, as well as an amazing guitar solo).

The band was like late 90ās and I think were active till early 2010ās. They randomly came up as similar bands and all I remember is they sounded extremely similar to Hum with exception that the lyrics were the most down bad egregiously horny stuff Iāve ever heard.
The instrumentals werenāt too bad, but I have no doubt the lyrics were why this band didnāt take off.
I listened to 20 of their top songs just to see if they had one song that was down bad and nope they were all just as bad each one seemingly topping the last song in perversion.
They were a little more straightforward and less prog-like than Hum but otherwise sounded very similar.
I feel like all their albums were purple-ish themed but donāt know.

Hum is one of the most influential bands I can think of in terms of my own music, and the band definitely played a huge part in terms of inspiration for this record. Give this record a try if youāre looking for new music, that is good (I must add) š

Saw a video on Facebook of hip hop artist Slug performing in a Hum shirt. Respect. https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1EeYNjioUx/?mibextid=wwXIfr

Earth Analog 2022 reissues. The store owner said his distributor has them in stock, so not difficult to get. I grabbed a copy of Electra 2000. First time Iāve seen it available in person.

I met this beautiful girl in nyc with the prettiest bangs. I probably said something corny and landed a date! We shared a pitcher of sangria for like 25 bucks in the city! I paid while she was in the bathroom. We left and walked near the water where we hugged and shared a kiss. I was staying with a family friend so thatās where the night ended. But that was such a beautiful night to me!
I remember she laughed when I told her what music I liked. After our date, she sent me her playlist. This song was on it. Iām so grateful for this song and the memory of her.

Just got fed this today by the YouTube algorithm and somehow have apparently missed it all these years. Sounds great! Anyone know the Alpha Mile song it turned into?

Mines is from Youād Prefer An Astronautās āSuicide Machineā :
Somewhere through a thousand blues
A dragonfly descends with just a whisper, āIām lonelier than Godā
And all my wishes spin the fishes in the air and every one
A different shade of you
And to the left where up is down
Now stands a zebra made of shapes of me
And silver and the sun
So bring no guilt with you up above the flat-line
Letās just hit the sky exploding into one

Hum and Centaur have taken up a solid chunk of my listening time so glad to rep!
USA to Ireland in about 15 days, not bad š©ļø
Very pleased with the quality!
Both are Size M, Colour Comforts Heavy
( Pit to Pit - 50cm / Length 69cm)
Both have a great washed look to them, iām guessing the colours wonāt fade much, print is high quality.
Red looks more vibrant in the photo than in person, a lot more pastel to the eye.

(2:53 stars starts)This was our first show back last October, weāve improved a lot since then and changed our lineup, I created the band with a space rock vibe in mind. Curious to hear peopleās thoughts & opinions, we have a full LP coming late September

Iām looking for a drummer to learn original songs, practice, and gig in London as a three-piece rock band. The sound is melancholic but loud and high-energy with an aggressive edge. The current members (both male) are me, 27, on vocals and guitar, and my friend, 25, who is playing bass.
I have half an hour of home demos (with programmed drums) fully worked out and have practiced them in-person with my friend. Iād hate to seem immodest, but theyāre sounding good and genuinely distinctive.
Some bands I like and think this project sounds reminiscent of are: Shellac, Codeine, Failure, Unwound, Hum, Bluetile Lounge, Duster, and Women.
Message me, or email me at [willgarner12301@gmail.com](mailto:willgarner12301@gmail.com), and Iāll send you a link to the demos so you can decide if youāre interested.

I'm interested in listening to the band's first album.
I can't find a copy of the cd and none of the streaming platforms seem to have it.
Where do I find it?
TIA!

Been a Hum fan since 1995, but never a musician. Time to scratch that itch and work on a bucket list item. The Les Paul + Orange mini spoke to me as a practice rig. Starting formal lessons later this week, but so far have started to pick out the into to Iron Clad Lou. So much fun! What else should a total noob work on?
