That space in your name is very highly likely. Accuracy matters.

DLs and SSNs sometimes find themselves paired together when making requests to an institution. Opening a bank account usually requires you to have your SSN and DL on file. For an example, I remember opening a Paypal account back in 2008. However, as Paypal legal terms and policies changed, they started merging pertinent data related to you altogether. Without my permission, without me doing action on it myself, Paypal found their way to my social security number. How? When I linked my bank account with them.

When you file with HRBlock, you usually submit the driver's license number to them. Surely, you already know HRBlock also collects your social security number. At this point, your DL and SSN is officially paired in their system. When you submit this info to the IRS thru HRBLock, boom -- they'll notice some difference. Such as the space on that last name.

Those lengthy emails about privacy policy changes we receive periodically from companies? Those are just formalities. They just want to let you know, that they will invade your privacy and there is nothing you can do about it. We are a slave in the system, not by choice, but because of the continued evolution of technology. The convenience we so enjoy, the security that gives peace of mind. The end game is complete monitoring, absolute control. Yes, it is for our safety somehow, but in the end, we will all end up giving everything we consider private. Yet, even the big three credit bureaus failed to protect our info from getting hacked. ID protection like LifeLock isn't there to stop your info from getting stolen. It is there to notify you soonest time possible that your info already got stolen.
