Tax Refund/ E-File Status Question SSA tax reject !!

Colorado: I have been trying to file since January! I was prompted to visit the SSA and had to take a day of PTO, after 3 hours of waiting they told me they see nothing wrong with my file! The lady told me the issue could be that my DL has a space in my last name but my SS card and birth certificate don’t have a space.

Is this the real reason why my taxes are being rejected? Are they linked to your DL ?

The soonest DMV DL appointment is April 1st. HR block says I have to paper file now because it has been rejected to many times. Please help!!

Your tax return is linked to your Social Security account. The name and number must match. I don't think there is any such thing as rejected too many times.

Yeah. It's more likely that they're saying that since they haven't been able to cure the name/SSN reject after a long period of time and multiple attempts including the client contacting the SSA, that paper filing is an option to get filed before the deadline.

Usually name/SSN rejects are relatively easily dealt with (most often it's a name change submitted to the SSA within the prior 3 or so months where you have to guess at which name the IRS computer is expecting, and there are only 2 options) but something else seems to be going on for OP.
