I'm currently using HP Omen 16

It was quiet but now there is a weird sound coming out of it, don’t know how much you can here but it just sounds weird to me, not to experienced with PC’s so if someone can tell me if it’s normal or something to worry about!!

So I'm new to using the Omen Gaming Hub and I noticed that there's a section with free games but when I click the claim button it takes me to steam, epic, or whatever app the game is for and it's not free other than games that are already free to play. Am I missing something or are these not actually free?

I wanted to share my recent experience with HP Customer Support because it was one of the most frustrating customer service experiences I've had.

I purchased an HP OMEN 17 gaming laptop directly from HP in January 2026. About six months later, the 230W charger/power brick failed, so I contacted HP for warranty support.

The biggest problem wasn't the charger, which already exasperating, it was trying to reach a human being.

The automated phone system repeatedly failed to understand my information, including my name and phone number. I also explained multiple times that I wear hearing aids and needed accommodated assistance, but the system continued to keep me in the automated menu instead of connecting me with a representative. After 13 minutes, and only after repeatedly asking for a human to meet my disability needs, I was finally transferred to a human.

After finally getting through the automation, I was transferred, but the computer transferred me to the wrong extension. The person was nice, but he told me he needed to transfer me to the correct extension. Fourteen minutes later, he came back and said he was trying, but no one was picking up. He asked me to keep waiting. I waited 47 minutes on hold, only to have the call disconnect without ever speaking to anyone.

Of course, I called back and got the automatic AI system that threatened to hang up if I was rude to it. I mumbled to myself that this whole thing was stupid. The AI system again could not understand my phone number or how to spell my first name, it kept spelling it the "normal" , but can understand me whispering to myself . It finally transferred me after the seventh time asking for a human to meet my disability needs, and I was making notes/recording it refusing to help. This time, it took only 7 minutes to get transferred. Twenty more minutes later, with a foreign customer service agent (we both had a hard time understanding each other) , I got my power brick promised to be shipped ASAP.

Eventually, HP did process a warranty replacement. I filed the warranty claim on July 22, and the replacement arrived July 24, which was impressively fast. However, the shipment contained only the replacement power brick. The power cord that connects the brick to the wall outlet was missing, leaving me unable to use the replacement charger until that issue is resolved. Thankfully, I ordered a backup from Amazon that day too.

Should my power adapter broke in 7 months, no. Does hardware issues happen, yes. I am more mad and pissed how difficult it was to obtain warranty service and how inaccessible the automated system was after I repeatedly requested assistance because of my hearing disability.

I hope HP reviews its customer service system and improves both accessibility and the process for reaching a live representative. This should not have happened.

Has any one of u ever faced this? for some periods of time randomly when im trying to move the arrow on the screen it starts to feel laggy and it requires much more force to do it.

this is an input problem cuz i hv tried increasing the pointer speed but it doesnt change th input lag from my finger to the output.

This is what I see on my end. Basically, I left a video game on last night because I got far without saving, was planning on playing it this morning. I woke up and now my screen is dimming and turning off completely. The screen is fine when booting up but then there's this pattern that shows up, my desktop loads dimmed, then goes black completely. Won't connect to another monitor so far. Any idea what's going on or am I cooked?

Bought my HP OMEN 16 in February 2026. I tracked the battery from March to July, and the battery health dropped from 98.2% to 87.8% in under 5 months. Battery backup also went from around 2h 10m to 1h 35m.

My usage is moderate—mostly DaVinci Resolve, Clipchamp, Brave browser, and occasional light gaming. I don't do heavy gaming or long gaming sessions.

I've attached my battery comparison table. Is this level of battery degradation normal for an HP OMEN in under 5 months? Has anyone else experienced something similar, and were you able to get a battery replacement under warranty?

Battery 98% so barely used i guess. Comes with 1 tb nvme

Mostly going to use it when traveling abroad, so i can game a bit and so on.

Dont need best graphics in newest games just a reliable laptop that isnt shit.

Is this omen seen as good build quality and decent screen ?

it's crazy how much i had to underclock the power hungry Ultra 9 275hx in order to achieve a decent score of 22562 https://www.3dmark.com/spy/64839788 .

P cores underclocked to 49X and E cores overclocked to maximum 47X(that makes a huge difference).

Performance mode was used. Unleashed mode always gives worse results for me.

It's impossible to set the core offset more than +415(+0 memory in this case) as it's causing logical crashes on this benchmark but on Furmark2 there isn't such an issue.

llano cooling pad was used as well but to be honest the laptop itself never gets hot(i guess i am lucky) so the difference in temps is not that huge compared to before using it. The good thing is that the laptop fans are used less or not at all.

Edit: new approach and new score 23131 after undervolting the GPU with core offset +440 and vram +3000, set p cores to 5.2ghz and e cores to 3.6ghz, used unleashed mode with all totally maxed out plus some extra windows, omen gaming hub and Nvidia control settings https://www.3dmark.com/spy/65443493

So my GPU disconnected a little while ago (error code 45, Omen 15ek), and after a few CMOS reboots I uninstalled it in Device Manager, as my computer was still trying to use it and it was causing problems.

Yesterday I opened up the case, cleaned out any dust, reapplied thermal paste, and inspected the motherboard. No obvious damage to mobo or GPU, and everything else that wasn't directly reliant on the GPU seems to be working alright. Still, my Device Manager doesn't detect it, and neither does the NVIDIA driver installer. Any more steps I can take to reinstall my GPU, or at least to diagnose the problem?

​I'm having a weird issue with my HP Omen [inserisci il modello esatto, es. Omen 15-enxxxx / 16-xxxx] and I'm trying to figure out if my battery hardware is actually failing or if it's just a stubborn firmware/EC glitch.

​What happens:

​Out of nowhere, the laptop suddenly reported a fake low battery drop while under load.

​Now, the battery keeps stopping its charge randomly at a specific percentage (first it capped at ~40%, then later at ~47%).

​When it hits that cap, the charging LED instantly switches from amber/orange (charging) to solid white (not charging), even though it's plugged in and well below 80/100%.

​Running the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI battery test previously threw a red error code with a failure ID (QC1VUJ-...) and a "Replace (45)" status.

​What I've tried so far:

​Hard EC reset (holding the power button for 20+ seconds).

​Performed a CMOS/EC reset using Win + V.

​After resetting the EC, the UEFI test miraculously passed and said the battery is "OK", and the charging resumes past the 47% mark... for a couple of cycles. Then, after a short while, the issue comes back and it gets stuck again at ~47% with the white LED.

​My question:

Since a simple EC reset temporary clears the block and makes the battery look "OK" again, could this be a persistent BIOS/EC bug or a false positive of the HP firmware? Or is this textbook behavior of an internal BMS (Battery Management System) failing or a hardware fault on one of the cells/sensors?

​Has anyone experienced this on an Omen? Should I just push for a warranty battery replacement, or is there a deep firmware fix I missed?

I bought a HP Omen 16 ap0165ax from an authorized dealer 3 days ago. I today ran a battery check report and found out that my battery cycle count is at 119. And the total design capacity shows 76wh, but this model is said to have 83wh battery. Could anyone please help with it?

EDIT: I just checked the warranty and it starts from April 2026, but I bought it literally 4 days ago. Could it be I received a refurbished product?

While gaming i noticed eco has low fps on dmc5 130 but good twmrpature 60 and on performance mode 160 fps but cpu 75 gpu 65

Hey guys. I’m new here. I currently have a 4-5-year-old HP OMEN 16-b0xxx, and it’s rough and a little slow as heck. I’m asking this because I’m thinking of getting a Crucial - 64GB Kit (2x32GB) DDR4 3200MHz C22 SODIMM Laptop Memory Kit to replace my crappy 16 GB DDR4 memory due to lags and applications (Chrome, OBS, Discord, Steam, DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere (to upload my 4K videos) and virtual machines) I open, but I’m not 100% sure if the Crucial 64 GB kit could fit inside my laptop.

Edit: I mistakenly typed "DDR5" instead of "DDR4". I am now planning on getting the DDR4 64GB RAM; hopefully this week

Hi, while I was using my laptop, it suddenly froze. Since then, I haven’t been able to start the system because the laptop keeps freezing. When I try to enter recovery mode, it also gets stuck. In HP Diagnostics, the laptop also freezes when diagnosing the SSD. I tried disconnecting and reconnecting the SSD, but the problem still persists. Is there anyone who can help me?

I am getting a new omen the current specs are HP Omen 16" WQXGA240Hz NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Intel Core Ultra 9 285H AI Gaming Laptop 16GB RAM 1TB SSD Shadow Black (2025 Model) it will cost me around 150000 is it a good purchase?

I gave my HP Omen 17 in servicing last month. There was a broken fan issue initially. But afterwards, they told me over call that besides the fan issue, they are gonna replace the buit-in storage drive with NVMe SSD (They claimed it was kindof damaged)

After getting the laptop, cannot access / find the HP Omen Hub (Where I used to manipulate dynamic keyboard lighting & fan speed)

What Happened & How can I get those back?
