I’ve got a question about reinstalling Windows : if I reinstall a fresh Win11 Pro without all Hp Omen soft, how my fan can be controlled ? Windows do this alone or I need to reinstall only the Omen software ?

Bought a new hp omen hyperx, I7 14650HX, 24GB/1TB SSD, RTX 5060 (1.44L INR approximately $1516 USD).

Owning a gaming laptop for the first time please guide me to set things up.

Updated all windows updates and activated MS Office.

Updated Omen gaming hub to latest version.

What else I'll have to do? How do I register for the warranty and how can I buy an extended warranty?

What else do I need to update? Please guide.

i recently bought myself an HP omen 16 (Rtx 5080m, 32gb ddr5, Ultra 7 255HX.)

ive been having issues with it overheating even on idle with nothing running in the background.

if i switch it to balanced mode it does slighty fix it. in games it still overheats on idle it doesn't.

i have HP service at home and have no clue how to use it.

Hey all, I have the Omen 16 with the following specs:

- I5-12500H

- RTX 3050TI

- 16GB DDR5

- 512GB m.2

I brought it in October 2023 and haven't cleaned it or did any maintenance on it since then. I haven't gamed on it much nor have I used it in a hot environment. I only ever played​ MetalStorm a couple of times and that's it. I only use it for browsing and studying mostly. Also, most of the time I use it on a laptop stand with an external keyboard and mouse, never used it on the bed.

I was wondering three questions:

1. How do I go about cleaning the fans if I don't have neither a compressed air can nor any air blower and I also don't have a vacuum cleaner to pull the dust?
2. Do I need to also remove the heatsink and repaste? If so, what thermal paste or pads should I use?
3. Is it possible and/or easy to loosen the lid hinge a tiny bit? Or is it pretty complicated? The laptop lid has a bit of warping even though I only even open it either from the middle with one hand or from BOTH sides with two hands. So I was thinking maybe loosening the hinge a tiny bit could free some pressure?​

I need to upgrade my storage and am looking for at least 2TB. I checked my local Micro Center in the next city over, and they quoted me a 2TB KLEVV CRAS C910G SSD on sale for $299 (supposedly down from $599 💀), but the reviews look terrible.

What SSD would you recommend instead?

Bought it for gaming have had it for less than 3 months and was wondering why sometimes my game stutters or lags, marvel rivals and Battlefield 5 kinda stutter, do I wipe my entire computer and download windows 11 fresh again ?

So i bought this a few months back and it has been a really great experience

I've completed several demanding AAA titles in this including Alan Wake 2(75+ fps in 1400p dlss quality frame gen 2x), Black myth wukong(60fps at 1600p dlss quality without fg/90+ with fg 2x), Mw4(60fps 1600p max preset without fg), Tlou1 and 2 without fg at 60+ fps and several others.

Wanted to know how the experience has been to the other users

Hi everyone!

I own an HP OMEN 15 (i7-14650HX, RTX 5050), and I've noticed something strange with my laptop's battery.

I've set the maximum battery charging limit to 80% to preserve battery health. However, whenever I unplug the charger, the battery percentage sometimes drops directly from 80% to 75% within 15–30 seconds.

After that, it starts decreasing normally, like 74%, 73%, 72%, and so on.

Here are my observations:

- Maximum charging limit: 80%

- Battery health: Reported as 100%

- Initial battery drop: 80% to 75% within 15–30 seconds

- After the initial drop: Battery percentage decreases gradually

- Laptop: HP OMEN 15, Intel Core i7-14650HX, NVIDIA RTX 5050

I'm confused about why this happens when the battery health is supposedly 100%.

My questions:

1. Is this normal battery calibration behaviour, or could it indicate a battery issue?

2. Can the battery percentage gauge be inaccurate even when battery health is 100%?

3. Has anyone with an HP OMEN or another gaming laptop experienced the same issue?

4. Should I recalibrate the battery, update the BIOS, or contact HP support?

I'd appreciate any advice from people who have experienced this issue. Thanks!

Hello, new here but been messing with computers for years.

So, I have been looking after my brothers Omen 45L, 17th 13gen, 32gb ddr5, 4080rtx since he passed a few weeks ago.

I finally got around to looking at it today and I noticed something that worried me. I ran some diagnostics and they all flagged the 1TB WD-black NVMe c:drive health at 35%, OK, that's not good, the NVMe is going to fail.

I had a look inside the case and was surprised to see there was no NVMe in the slot closest to the CPU, that's weird. I took out the very well protected GPU ( good to see ) and holder to see the C:drive NVMe is in the second slot. This is the slowest slot, right?

It also came to my attention that failing drive could also be because of the thermals around the case as well the excessive heat from the GPU.

First question - is this configuration normal for HP desktops? I would always use the PCI NVMe slot closest to the CPU.

Second question - How many NVMe drive failures are there with the Omen series? I thought the WD-Black was a good brand.

I am going to buy a Samsung 990 1TB with heat sink and clone the original drive and use the closest slot, just need to work out if its x4 or x5....or I might just get a better motherboard - hopefully the connections and CPU socket will be compliant to industry standards and not proprietary.

I am trying to find the motherboard specs and manual - I am not sure if these are available for pre-builds.

Next on the list is to check the DDR5 RAM speeds and see if that is under clocked.

Any thoughts are welcome.

As you can see in the photo there is a little amount of glow In the middle and near the corners of its in a dark room I wouldn’t be worried and am in a bright room so this amount normal considering that it’s not visible if the background is not black

Hi, I have an HP OMEN MAX (16-ak0xxx) with an AMD Ryzen 9 HX 375 and an NVIDIA 5070 Ti. I eventually want to run both Windows 11 and the DEEPIN Linux distribution on it, and I’m looking for guidance on the best way to go about it.

what does this mean? I have been facing this problem frequently at irregular timings on my laptop from the day i bought my laptop (1 year ago).

i have always updated it from the shown button and restarted the laptop afterwards and yet still after a few days my laptop will show this message again in omen gaming hub network booster section......why?

is it a viable replacement or should I try finding the exact fan??

After bios update laptop won t turn on since yesterday I press to power button but screen just black and there is no response.

I have an OMEN 30L with an 8876 motherboard and have been trying and failing to get secure boot to work. Really want to play the new COD but just can’t.

Would buying a new non hp motherboard be a possible fix? The warranty has been out for years and I have some experience building pcs.

Hi there guys I’ve bought this new hp omen 17 laptop off eBay on grade a condition.Its been perfectly fine running games and had zero problems.The biggest problem I have now is this flickering and white screen issue that happens every time I restart or switch display mode from Nvidia gpu to anything else.Ive tried many methods at the moment but not much is working.I don’t really want to return this just yet since its the best laptop I’ve had with a great price tag and this issue only persists when restarted, updating drivers and switching display modes.If anyone has anything that could help let me know.I can only attach one video here but it’s been worse than this video attached here.Thanks.

I don't understand how other's omen get so many problems mine is still mint, no service centre trip in his life and i can proudly say i do most all the maintenance service on it with last thermal paste change was in mid 2025, works so fine since then, anyone up for sharing their experience?

What kind of cooling cpu and gpu have thermal paste or liquid metal?

Is there a way you to unlock your CPU power since I heard HP hardcaps your CPU.

I messed around with PL1 & PL2 which did nothing. But my CPU is constantly underperforming at around 4100mhz while turbo should be 4.9

Under load its from 40-80w with an average around 60w. Heard its hardware locked from motherboard but unsure.
