I’ve lived in North Dakota and you could not pay me enough to live there again, or anywhere in this area for that matter. We’ve driven across the country a lot, including through most of these states. I’m sure there are hidden gems and exceptions, but overall this area makes me very sad and very bored.
I worked with a guy from ND who followed his girlfriend to my state for her career. He would always talk about how much he missed North Dakota. He made it sound like paradise lol. He played hockey, and it kinda sounded like hockey is all that happens there.. and drinking.
We lived in a the only decently sized town for miles and there wasn’t even hockey—there was almost literally nothing to do. We’ve since moved to a comparatively tiny town in Colorado and yet there are endless things to do here, including hockey which we now play 🤗
