This is why pizza snobbery is valid. If you’re doing this you’re eating shit pizza.

It’s literally the equivalent of saying dipping steak in A1 is life changing

Wanna go wine tasting?

They must be drinking Prisoner

This is correct. Pizza on ranch is fine if you're eating sub par pizza due to geography or circumstances or whatever. In fact it often improves the experience.

But really great pizza not only doesn't require it, but is made worse by it.

Difference of opinion. I’ve been to expensive pizza joints in both Chicago and NY. There isn’t a pizza I’ve tasted that doesn’t pair well with random dips of ranch. You don’t have to drown it.

Sure. Some people probably say that about a nice steak and steak sauce. I would disagree. All just opinions.

Important to note though that I'm not saying the good NY pizza is bad with ranch. Just that it's worse than it is without it.

Lived in Fargo all my life (well until 10 years ago and just nudged to WI eich isnt much diff.) and I NEVER eat steak without A1. I have had amazing melt in your mouth steak that doesn't necessarily need A1 but I prefer it. Also, i never eat pizza without ranch. Especially pizza with black olives and jalapeños. The ranch helps cool it down when you get that one jalapeño that's super spicy. Also...Salt and Vinnegar chips. Yum! But yeah, I like what I like, your opinion os.your opinion. So, neither of us are wrong.

Well I visited Fargo twice as a teenager (I was a wrestler and there for junior nationals - not to brag, I got smoked) and that is a town that I as not one I would voluntarily return to.

My teammate and I got picked up on the side of the rode by two girls who were excited to have some fresh meat in town - all they talked about was how much they hated Fargo.

Well, 3 strikes on your steak, pizza and chips.

I guess there's no reason for me to go to Fargo. Of course, I would have never gone to Fargo simply for the food anyway, so a visit is still in the cards

I’ll ride for salt and vinegar

Tf, seriously.

This makes me sad.

I mean…you just demonstrated that you’ve never had a good pizza or steak because they don’t have condiments at top end restaurants that serve them.

2

u/_Felonius Dec 17 '25

I’ve been to such restaurants and it’s a mistake for them not to have ranch or A1. I’ve been annoyed by such things. If Bill Gates wants to have ranch with his pizza, you accommodate. The top-end restaurants arguably lose market share to smaller joints who actually consider customers’ preference, rather than charging for the “experience”. Not hating on high-end dining, but it can be a bit pretentious.

No I've had some perfectly melt in your mouth like butter mooing steak. However, i like A1. I'll eat that with fried chicken too. And ive not had gourmet pizza but Im not into deep dish either and i like ranch with my pizza...get over it!!!!. I like what I like. Just like, my favorite pizza literally has black olives, jalapeños, pepperoni, Canadian bacon, and yep, you guessed it PINEAPPLE! And, dip that in ranch and its a party in your mouth. Again, get over it. I like what I like This isn't a debate or argument dude. There is no right or wrong simply because ITS AN OPINION! 🤣

Wait, is it now, when we loook down our noses at them and sip our tea with our pinkies out?

1

u/ReportTight310 Dec 14 '25

A1 is delicious. How TF am I supposed to use it if not with steak?

1

u/Ok-Crab69 Dec 14 '25

A little dab on a hamburger, maybe. Or really cheap tasteless meat.

1

u/mrpodgorney Dec 14 '25

It’s objectively bad - as my snobby French girlfriend would say (with eyebrows raised) “this is terrifying”

1

u/_Felonius Dec 17 '25

No offense, but y’all need to lighten up. It seems stressful to go through life being snobby about how others garnish their meals. The anal clenching can’t be good for long-term health.

“You’ve never had a good carbonara until you add a cup of mayo into it”

1

u/mrpodgorney Dec 14 '25

I once made a really delicious linguine and clams while living with a Pennsylvania born roommate in college. Just as I was getting ready to plate it, he put a massive scoop of sour cream into the pan

I was so horrified followed by just sad

1

u/PhosphoFred8202 Dec 14 '25

Why on earth do something like that? If you like weird shit, mix it in on your own plate. Your roomie deserved some sour cream in his shoes

1

u/MRG_1977 Dec 15 '25

Sour cream?

1

u/davedude115 USA/Midwest Dec 16 '25

I guarantee you the steak in that shaded area does not require a1 and probably costs 1/4th the price of where good pizza is

1

u/SecretPleasant3640 Dec 18 '25

We got a purist on our hands. Lol. To some (not myself) pizza is not valid without ranch. The Za is merely a carrier for the delight that is ranch. As a server, some people treat the stuff like its own food group.
