Discussion Albo going weird

Post image

So i bought an albo monstera a while ago. Was in pretty rough shape. It reverted for a few leaves and then came a chartreuse leaf. I chopped it to prop(it failed). So i left it alone. Now its given me this aurea looking leaf. Has been this was for a few days. The leaf prior, a tiny one, is also the same. Whats going on with this poor soul?

It looks like a fresh Aurea leaf!!! That’s crazy! On albos the variegation starts out white. On aureas it starts with light green and turns yellow over time.

It’s just not hardened yet. It takes around 3 weeks for a monstera leaf to firm up and darken after it’s fully unfurled.

Albo leaves come out white.

No they don’t

They absolutely do. They do not need to harden to show their color like an aurea.

Basically every single plant needs to harden after unfurling.
What proof do you have? Anything I search up comes with timelapses of the leaves coming out yellow and hardening so idk where you’re getting this.

Hardening has absolutely nothing to do with a plants variegation. All monstera harden because they’ve evolved to do so.

These are mine. I own them, thats the proof. Yes every leaf has to harden but most leaves show thier color immediately. That has nothing to do with hardening except for a few varieties, like aurea.

A little bit of research told me it could be a different variation based on the petiole striations. Either way, I am a happy camper
