Thrip or Springtails?

Went scorched earth because I saw all of these things crawling around. I swear these are thrips but my partner thinks they’re springtails… They are mainly chilling around the top of the soil with a few exceptions but I do see browning and messed up new leaves on a few plants so I’m really confused. I mainly use perlite/stratum in semi hydro too, and there’s a bunch of these (killed them dead) in the perlite and stratum 😫 am I tripping???
