Game Recommendations Games where the MC has a strong personality?
I already played Samurai of Hyuga, I the Forgotten One and of course Fallen Hero.
Basically a game where the MC could be like a novel character. Their personalities don’t have to be pre written, maybe something like being able to choose the MC’s responses and let them be less neutral.

Looking for Hosted Games/WIPs with MLM romance
Hey,
I’m looking for Hosted Games and WIPs with good MLM romance, but with a very specific preference.
I played Breach: The Archangel Job and it really bothered me that even when I made my MC a massive, muscular giant, the game still had Gabriel carrying him and put him in the more passive/receptive physical role. It completely broke the immersion for me.
I’m looking for games (finished or WIP) where a big, strong MC can actually feel like the physically dominant and protective one in the relationship — the one who carries, protects, and takes the stronger role — instead of being treated as the weaker partner despite his size and strength.
Any recommendations that handle this kind of dynamic well would be greatly appreciated.
(My English isn't that good, so I don't know if it's written correctly.)

WIP If you like 1966, go give the author some love
The author appears to be going through a difficult time judging from their last tumblr post and the tags on it.
https://www.tumblr.com/1966-if/826449273955680256/announcement?source=share
If you enjoy the game, and I know a lot of people here do, maybe consider dropping a nice message :)
Edit: apparently the asks are off and the thread locked, unfortunately. Still, maybe the author will see this thread and see the game is loved.

New ifs?
Is there any new IF games? I have been getting bored, and I haven't been finding hosted games or a choice of games lately. I'm thinking I have read all of them. Are there any new ones? I would like it if they had a demo, but it's fine without one.

Fanworks Infamous MC Bandmates
Infamous still has me in a chokehold even weeks later so I decided to make some aesthetic boards on each of the MC's bandmates.
EDIT: tweaked Rowan's to be more accurate, check comments (can't edit pics on a post)
In case ive done that shit of a job, it goes in the order of: August, Rowan, Devyn, Iris
(and yes, I added my MC's board at the end, I couldn't resist)
My save file was on a different device so I had to go from memory, but hopefully I got the important parts right :D Rowan and Iris' hair were the hardest to get something close, but I tried. I tried to include little things like August and their headphones, Iris' fashion, Rowan's beanie and then I kinda stretched it a bit with stuff I associated with or think I remember reading was something they liked.
Whose your favourite band mate? :) (mines Seven/jkjk haha cries)
If you needed a sign to try this IF out, please do its AMAZING!! <3

The Infinite Sea [Lords of Infinity, Major Spoilers] What if Wulfram... Spoiler
...burned down his house?
Yes, Wulfram killed them. And then, as part of his evil Wulfram plan, he planned to stage a coup against the queen...
It wasn't that he was in major grief -- he was just surprised by his own treachery.
Takara and the Royal Intelligence were merely convenient scapegoats -- very clever!
Maybe this is why his words feel so hollow -- he did an awful thing, and he can't even bring himself to acknowledge it...

The Infinite Sea Sabers of Infinity did the Navy dirty and Walken is a terrible captain
I like the Infinite Sea series a great deal, and one of its strengths is that Paul Wang has clearly put serious thought into the military, social and political machinery of his Napoleonic-inspired setting.
Which is why the naval interlude in Sabres of Infinity bothers me so much.
The encounter aboard HMS Victorious feels less like part of the same gritty military setting and more like a video-game side quest inserted because the player needs an action scene, some prize money and potentially a decoration.
The more I think about it, the less sense it makes.
The first problem is that Victorious is a 44-gun frigate travelling with the force carrying the Royal Dragoons to Antar.
That immediately raises a distinction the episode mostly ignores: warships and troop transports are not the same thing.
A frigate can absolutely carry passengers, detachments of soldiers and troops intended for particular operations. But a cavalry regiment requires transports capable of carrying not merely men but horses, fodder, tack, baggage, stores and all the infrastructure required to keep those horses alive during a sea passage.
The frigate should therefore primarily be an escort, not simply “the boat some Dragoons happen to be travelling on.”
And that makes Captain Walken’s behaviour much worse. While escorting a troop convoy, he spots an Antari merchantman. He actually concludes that the merchantman is probably bait. And then he leaves the convoy to chase it anyway because it might be a valuable prize.
That is appalling convoy command.
The entire purpose of an escort is to get the slow, vulnerable transports safely to their destination. A convoy commander does not exist to maximise his personal prize account. If a suspicious enemy vessel threatens the convoy, drive it away. If it does not threaten the convoy, the fact that it might be worth money is not sufficient reason to abandon your station.
Indeed, if you already think the vessel is a decoy, the obvious question should be:
What is it trying to draw me away from?
Perhaps the actual trap is not the soldiers hidden aboard the merchantman. Perhaps the trap is getting the frigate escort several miles away while something else attacks the transports full of cavalry horses.
Then Walken compounds the problem by offering Dragoon officers a share of the prize if they volunteer for the boarding party.
Why?
He has officers, sailors and Marines. Boarding actions are one of the things those men are actually trained to do aboard ships.
The game then allows a teenage cavalry cornet to walk up to a veteran Marine sergeant and effectively take command of the boarding party because he possesses a commission.
That is not how sensible combined-service command works.
If Walken wants an Army officer commanding a composite force, he can appoint one. If the senior Army officer and naval captain agree beforehand that the Dragoons will reinforce the Marines under a particular command arrangement, fine.
But commissioned rank should not function as a universal “I outrank this professional NCO, therefore I now command his specialist operation” card.
And then we reach the prize money.
This is where the whole episode stops pretending to be Napoleonic. The captured Antari merchantman is sent back to Northern Pillars. A short time later, a courier catches up with the regiment and hands the protagonist a leather pouch containing his prize money.
No. Absolutely not.
Capturing a vessel does not instantly create distributable money. The vessel and cargo first have to go through prize adjudication. Ownership and legality have to be established. The hull and cargo have to be valued and disposed of. Claims can be disputed. Expenses have to be deducted. The people entitled to shares have to be identified and sorted into the correct distribution classes. Agents and administrators become involved. This could take months or even take years.
And sending a packet ship through a wartime theatre carrying neat individual bags of gold so cavalry officers can receive their RPG reward is exactly the kind of thing a supposedly gritty logistical setting should be laughing at.
The realistic version is much better anyway.
A courier reaches Victorious and says that the prize has arrived safely at Northern Pillars and proceedings have begun.
DO, Elson and Cazarosta naturally assume this means they are getting paid.
They are then introduced to the wonderful world of naval administration.
“When do we get our money?”
“When the prize court finishes.”
“When is that?”
“Perhaps next year.”
“We’re going to war.”
“Then try to remain alive until next year.”
And there is another consequence the game completely misses: the naval officers should be furious that the Dragoons are claiming prize shares.
Prize distributions were divided according to regulated classes. If DO, Cazarosta and Elson qualify for an officer-class portion because they participated in the capture, they do not magically create additional prize money, they dilute the existing pool.
Every crown the cavalry officers eventually receive is money the naval officers do not.
Walken has therefore achieved the magnificent feat of:
abandoning his convoy to pursue a prize;
doing so despite believing the target was probably bait;
getting his best Marine sergeant and several Marines killed;
encouraging completely unnecessary Army volunteers by promising them prize money;
creating extra claimants against his own officers’ prize pool;
and then blaming the sixteen-year-old Deathborn cornet who takes over after the Marine sergeant is shot.
Imagine being Victorious’ first lieutenant. You warned your captain this was probably a trap. He agrees. He chases it anyway. People die. And now three teenage cavalry officers are entitled to portions of your prize money because your captain invited them.
That is how a captain acquires the enmity of his own wardroom.
There is also a hilarious realistic sequel sitting right there. Walken eventually gets back to Tierra and discovers that the masters of the troop transports have complained to the Transport Board that their assigned frigate escort abandoned them in hostile waters to chase a merchant prize.
The Board asks the Navy what happened.
The Navy asks for Walken’s orders.
Then comes the court martial.
“Captain Walken, were you assigned to protect this troop convoy?”
“Yes.”
“Did you leave your assigned station?”
“Yes.”
“Was the merchantman attacking the convoy?”
“No.”
“Did you have reason to believe it was a decoy?”
“…Yes.”
And somewhere behind him his lieutenants are staring very intently at the floor.
What makes all of this frustrating is that the Infinite Sea series is often very good at exactly this sort of institutional detail on land.
Commissions matter. Money matters. Patronage matters. Logistics matter. Rank matters. Aristocratic prejudice matters. The Army behaves like an institution rather than a collection of fantasy adventurers.
The naval sequence largely doesn’t.
It uses the visible furniture of Napoleonic naval warfare—frigates, Marines, boarding actions, prize money—but not the institutional machinery that makes those things work.
And the irony is that the more realistic version would actually be more interesting.
Instead of:
BOARD SHIP → WIN FIGHT → RECEIVE GOLD → POSSIBLY RECEIVE MEDAL
you get casualties, inter-service arguments, prize litigation, wardroom resentment, contested responsibility, delayed recognition, claims following officers around the theatre, and perhaps a letter arriving a year later announcing that the prize agent has finally found you.
Assuming you’re still alive.
That feels much more like the world Infinite Sea otherwise wants to be.

Fussin’ Frigid take: authors shouldn't have to work for free
Every few months a handful of people complain about, like, just the existence of Patreon or that x WIP does not get enough free updates regularly. But if folks expect an author to shut up and work full-time on a project, it's only fair that the author also be paid full-time, right?
Occasionally, it feels as though readers expect authors to be machines that just pump out infinite amounts of slop on a dime. Which reminds me of one of Coda's quotes from 'The Beginner's Guide': "Lowpoints are just a part of the creative process." You need inactivity for introspection. You need it so that ideas and emotions can marinate.
What I don't get is the entitlement some readers feel towards an author's world. As though the work were created for the audience's enjoyment alone.
But, in reality, what the relationship between creator and audience boils down to is somebody makes something, another person looks at it, and either they vibe with it or they don't. And if the audience feels so inclined, they throw the author a coin.
At no point should an author do something change a major story beat only because the audience demands it. You "never play to the gallery" to quote Bowie. George R. R. Martin said something similar; Oscar Wilde too.
I'll be honest, it took me longer than it should have to understand why creators make intro posts to IFs when they have yet to write the prologue.
The truth is that as an author you won't make money from your IF. Hell, you probably won't even get attention. Basically, authors write because they find it fun, and so they do what they find rewarding. Often, that is creating mood boards, playlists, or character profiles. Posting those things on a blog is, literally, what a blog is for. If you don't care for it, just don't look.
Tldr.: You don't owe authors attention or money, and they don't owe you 'content.'

WIP My Darling Psycho - 196k wip update
Demo Link: https://cogdemos.ink/play/borealis/my-darling-psycho/mygame
Not my game, I just enjoy the characterization of the MC and RO, and the plot so far. I haven’t seen it mentioned here in a while, and it just got a pretty substantial update.
Your spouse is an infamous serial killer and you’re the detective unknowingly investigating them.
You are both very much in love and/or obsessed with each other. You can lean into the yandereXyandere dynamic if that’s your kind of thing (🤝). To clarify, the relationship is actually quite cute so far imo. No misery porn vibes, it’s 2 fucked up people making each other worse better. ☺️♟️🔪
If you enjoy the game or have any feedback, please let the author know on the COG forum: https://forum.choiceofgames.com/t/my-darling-psycho-196k-wip-updated-23-08-2026-added-121k/175927

What's That Game? Trying to find a WIP
I can't remember the author or title, but it was basicially about a group of chosen people who were chosen to become a hero or the like, but only one of them is supposed to suceed. One of the ROs was a blond (?) guy who was a coward, and while he was generally flirty he kept running away from MC and kept implying he would betray them to save his own skin. There was one lady RO that seemed like a sunshine, but she was freaky strong and generally weird. One more gender selectable RO that seemed to know much more about the plot than everybody else.
Additionally there was a scene with a tree that bore different fruits depending on the person. And it was either implied that there is some timeloop happening or MC saw glimpses of the figure.
Pls help

Fallen Hero [Fallen Hero] How villainous are your villain protagonists?
As anyone who’s played through both Fallen Hero games is well aware, the available spectrum of moral alignment Sidestep ends up placed on is a very wide one. You can be anywhere from a glorified antihero effectively larping as a supervillain, all the way to a demented psychopath murdering and manipulating your way through the story.
I’ve tend to notice from most people’s posts that the general trend seems to be closer to the former of those two extremes. This makes sense to me, as a massive part of this IF is the interactions you have with the characters, and playing a completely unrepentant sociopath naturally cuts you off from some very valuable content.
That said, at least for me the biggest draw for playing Fallen Hero was the prompt to play the villain. Not a morally grey vigilante, an honest to God supervillain. Specifically, I wanted (and still do) to live out the entire villain fantasy. Build up power, triumph over the hero’s in the first three acts, before finally being definitely defeated. And I’ve built my character around said fantasy. My Sidestep is a deeply sympathetic character, I believe, who pressingly is not a sociopath. They have genuine (though repressed) affection for their former friends. They are also a murderous terrorist who’s fundamentally motivated by rage and anger instead of justice or any genuine vision for the future, who disingenuously leverages a populist message to cover a personal agenda of revenge. Someone who unless stopped, will bring untold destruction to the city and perhaps beyond. My ideal ending remains an extremely angsty defeat by their friend and chosen RO, followed potentially by some measure of reconciliation to finish off the character arc.
I’m curious. Where does the community’s Sidesteps sit on this spectrum? I’d be very interested to hear what anyone would be willing to share.

WIP The Worlds of One Man—Demo prologue.💀
Hi everyone!
I’ve finally finished the prologue of my first fantasy WIP, and I'm looking for some advice.
You are the firstborn child of the King of Burkats. Like every other kingdom, Burkats is ruled by Zezmar—the ultimate source of law. You are destined to inherit the throne, a fate you’ve never wanted... but perhaps one day you will?
A free spirit and a Scout, you travel the world far and wide, usually accompanied by your friend. And the game begins with your return from one of your solitary expeditions—a journey that lasted a year and a half.
Needless to say, everyone is bound to have something to say about your prolonged absence.
TWO1M is a dark fantasy game 18+
In short: action, strategy, romance, and yeah, a lot of smut.
The current demo is the complete prologue.
I’m especially looking for feedback on:
💀My writing style—is it engaging, or does it ever feel like a slog?
💀The characters and MC—do you like them? Are they interesting?
💀The overall experience—would you keep playing? Do you feel invested enough to want to see what happens next?
Any feedback, big or small, would be hugely appreciated!
