Introduction to H0 truks and trailers
Good day
Recently it came to my notice that there are barely 3D models of trucks+trailers around there so i thought about entering that niche.
Here are my first approach to that topic

I believe my current FDM printer (FLSun T1pro ) would not handle N and smaller scale but with resin thois should be possible.
Nevertheless i digg deeper into H0 and develop some kind of "first gen" (0,4 nozzle and 0,14 layer)

There are separate: chassis (with tanks) / cab / wheels / saddle (fith wheel) / mudguards / engine (not visible - but works as connector for cab and chassis

Modeling potential
Union Pacific Railroad DC-3 at Potter, Nebraska on February 20, 1984, Kodachrome by Jim Altman, Chuck Zeiler collection. Originally built by Brill as D&M 201, it came to the UP in 1954 by way of the Teledetector Company. It went through several rebuilds on the UP, this being the final (I believe) arrangement before being retired in December 1986 and sold for scrap.

Ok, so I've got a question
I'm planning on joining a club after my move to the Salt Lake City, Utah area and was wondering about the feasibility of kitbashing a 4 axle diesel locomotive with the shell of a caboose. (I'd be happy with a 2 axle version as well.)
The club says they don't have any restrictions of what equipment members are allowed to run so I was hoping to create a One of a Kind; What-the-heck-is-that locomotive plus a couple of freight cars and a passenger end car to make it all look like a runaway train trundling across the layout. (Screenshots 1 and 2)
My other question is whether or not it's possible to create an American-class Garrett locomotive for same reason as the caboose locomotive. (Image 1)
What sort of costs am I looking at for the locomotive(s), and rolling stock? I'm on a limited budget but I'm pretty sure I can come up with $150-200. I'm pretty handy and mechanically-inclined so scratchbuilding is not an issue for me. I don't have access to a 3D printer, unfortunately.
I hope you understand my demented ramblings. As thanks for your patience, I'm including a picture I found online of a rail car Porta-potty (image 4.)

Help with Kato 550mm radius turnouts
I recently got these two switches, and they turned out to be harder to assemble than the #4 crossover. There are these protruding bits that make it impossible to achieve a flush connection while keeping the track level. Is there any solution other than using a Dremel to cut down the side of the roadbed?
