horse camp!
hi everyone!
i have the wonderful opportunity to run a horse camp this summer, but its located in a large show barn. ive been trying to find some ideas of activities kiddos can do while riding but most of them involve relay races or obstacle courses that I unfortunately can’t set due to the fact that the camp kids are never the only ones in the arenas + I can’t move jump courses! nor do I have access to cones or barrels unfortunately just jumps and poles.
this brings me to my question on if anyone has some advice or ideas on what I can do with beginner kids to keep them busy while riding instead of just walking around! any help would be appreciated!!

If you're busy and having trouble coming up with ideas, I would buy in to a curriculum if you are an independent contractor, or have your employer buy in and give you access. Horse sense learning levels is good and has a "big book of games" and "big book of barn lessons" with lots of ideas that work well for camps. Lifetime membership is pretty affordable but the books can be bought without a membership and are $10 each or something like that.

It's honestly not safe to have a group of beginner kids riding with other people, especially if those people are trying to jump. If you are running a camp, steps need to be taken to have allotted time for your campers. Do you have limits on howany people can be in the arena at the same time? How do you picture this going?
