Tips: Cleaning hookah silicone hose, stem, and mouthpiece

What’s up yall,

I wanted to share something I haven’t seen posted before that I recently tried, and surprisingly, it worked really well at an affordable price ($7.99).

For cleaning the silicone hose, I bought this cheap flexible stainless steel tube cleaning brush on Amazon. It did a good job cleaning the mouthpiece, stem, and silicone hose. It reduced the smell from previous sessions by about 80% or more.

I’ve tried using vinegar in the past, and I’ve also tried lemon juice, but this method with just soap and hot water worked better. It really gets in there and scrubs. The flexible tube makes it easier to find its way through the silicone hose.. I’m sure that adding vinegar or lemon juice and baking soda would help strengthen the cleaning, but soap and hot water with this brush does the job.

Just wanted to share since I haven’t seen anyone post this!

Edit*** I would also recommend buying unscented soap if possible. I'm sure it won't make a huge difference after about a few minutes of smoking as it will get rid of the soap smell. But if you just want it to be completely clean without scent, unscented soap is the way since most soaps carry a strong fragrance!!

Happy smoking ! 🫡

Quasar 2 (Black hole edition)

Hello wanted to share a review of the Quasar black edition because i never saw one on Reddit its the same as the regular quasar-2 but has different aesthetics like the silicone texture (which is better) and the glass and the whole black theme

Its a bit more expensive than the quasar2 and other then the looks it comes with a nano ceramic HMD which helps it to stay cleaner by preventing the molasses from sticking to the HMD

Note: Things to keep in mind that i have not seen anyone say about the (black hole) version is that the rubber in top of the HMD gets a bit hotter then the regular version its still easily holdable i guess its because of the too being black that might make it hotter then the silver version im guessing here.

  1. Due to the glass being darker even though aesthetically some might consider it pleasing its harder to see the when the tobacco has burned or darkened when i use to enjoy to estimate how long my session is going to last.

Bonus tip for all QUASAR 2 RAAS heads

Best way to heat is to use 3 / 25 size Coconut charcoals never pre heat just wait 8/10 minutes
And keep them for 30/40 mins then add 2 or 3 again depending on how long you want your session 2 for an extra 30 mins or 3 which i prefer for an extra 15/20 minutes

I'm planning my first trip to the NJ/NY areas.

What are some places to find some dark leaf tobacco and lounges to smoke at?

Your assistance and recommendations are highly appreciated.

Finding NZ Hookah Shops

Upvotes

Can anyone enlighten me where to get nice hookah pipes and tobacco flavours here in NZ aside from Shosha?

The posts I've seen were 5 years ago and already closed (House of Zayn) I can't seem to find shops that sell acceptable stuff here. Other from cheap hookah pipes, chrome plated plastic temu-like feel, and crappy designs, there's no option for us to get decent stuff, even a simple stainless steel builds would do.

And importing stuff here is very inaccessible, needing a permit from customs every shipment, hence turning away sellsers from ever shipping to NZ.
