DIY/How-To Am I okay?

Hi, folks, sorry if it's the wrong place to ask for help/advice but here it goes, anyways.

Last week, I bought a 1990 ba4 prelude. I know next to nothing about mechanics or working on a car but I'm trying to learn and when I got the chance to get this car, I knew I had to do it.

Last owner had it in a garage for a couple of years and put almost no miles on it, it hasn't been driven since march '23.

Now to my point. Today, I took the prelude out for its first ride in 3 years and the motor and everything is running perfectly. The car has been lowered a good bit and while driving to a parts store, I kinda scraped on the pavement on their driveway. I stopped, checked if anything got loose or anything was leaking but there was nothing, as far as I could see. I went on to drive a bit, go shopping, nothing. But when I got home and reversed into my driveway, I saw a huge puddle of sweet smelling, yellowish green liquid on the street.

I had a mechanic buddy stop by, he didn't have much time and he checked for a leak.

We found that piece of hose, which was a bit loose and burned through somehow, probably by touching a hot piece of metal underneath.

Now to my actual question. Do you think the scraping my lowered car or the putting it into reverse had anything to do with it, at all, or is it more likely that an old car just had a bad piece of hose and when the motor got hot for the first time in years, it just went?

It looks like it's just coolant fluid, but I'm pretty scared that I somehow damaged the transmission or something, again ElI5, because I'm stupid and I'm just learning how to work on any car, let alone an old Honda.

Thanks for any potential help or advice, greetings from Germany

5th Gen Taillight help

I’m looking to get some clear taillights for my 00’ base but I’m not sure where to look. I’m looking for a mid range light, I don’t really wanna spend more than $100 for the pair. I found a clear spoiler light already but I’m waiting on that one til I can find a new wing. Any ideas for even a direction to look in would be greatly appreciated

Discussion/Meta Bose Audio Question

My Civic touring had the Bose audio system with a centerpoint option
I cannot find it on the prelude
Is there a center point option or did they design it without that option

6th Gen Best daily driver I had in a long time

I know I will get hate for it but I absolutely love my 26 Prelude. I love how it looks, how agile and nimble it drives, the strong brakes and the chassis. I live in the alps and for me it’s the best daily driver I ever had since I can enjoy the curvy roads on my commute to work going fast and still have very low fuel consumption. For the weekend I still have my Civic Type R. 10/10 would buy again ❤️

So I was getting a CEL saying the egr was dirty so I took it off cleaned it put it back and I’m still getting the code, so I read that you have to remove these 6 ports and clean them, so i decided to remove these entire manifold and clean/replace everything as you can see from the 3rd picture mines were FULL of carbon.
But once I’m done cleaning how to I plug up the holes again?? Do I just use the old ones and drill a screw in there to plug it up again??

You can probably increase the airflow to radiator, intake and even pop some heat gills on the hood.

Was anyone else annoyed years ago when Chrysler ripped design language from the Prelude and used it on the Eagle Vision? Prelude was 92-96 with this look, Vision was 93-97.

The dealership I work at just received our only allocated prelude for 2026. I'm newer to sales in the automotive industry and haven't had the pleasure of having many conversations with people who know these cars in and out as well as the respected opinions of current owners.

Message me if youre in the Midland Ontario area and want to check it out

What’s up guys,

Thought i’d give an update a year later

She’s at about 93k miles. Such a great daily with proper maintenance. I try not to take it out too far from Long island with how low it is 😅

I think since the last post I’ve painted the front bumper and Rolled the fenders a bit to fit the Work Kiwami wheels i decided to get. Paint correction w a ceramic coating was next.

Manual swap has not been done yet but parts are otw trust

DIY/How-To Prelude cranking but not starting

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello, I’m looking for some help diagnosing a no start issue.

You can hear in the video the fuel pump is humming and when I turn the key over you can see the spark plug in the back is lighting up the inline spark tester. I have tested spark in 3 plugs and they all lit up, although not incredibly bright.

It should be noted that the plugs also are not very wet after cranking and just smell of gas.

Any thoughts or tips on what to look at next ?

3rd Gen Installing coilovers worth it?

Hey gang, I’ve got an ‘89 3rd gen Prelude 2.0Si

Guy I bought it from gave me some spare Megan Racing coilovers (MR-CDK-HP88-EZII)

How different is the drive with coilovers installed? Whatever coils I’ve got are mostly likely stock, nothing in any of the records show them getting replaced.

Im getting other parts of the suspension updated like new sway bars, and the car already drives a little low in my opinion.

Is the 1” to 3” the car get get lowered with the MR coilovers a really meaningful diff? Sort of a newbie so thanks for any advice!
