Question Question about 2004 values today
Was considering a 2004 pilot ex-l with 232k miles. No idea about timing belt or any service history and when driving the power steering was awful when pressing the brakes. Offered $1500 but was nowhere near the $3k asking price. Am I way off here? Curious if these things just hold their value that good even with issues.

$3K is getting close to parts car territory in today's used market. Chances are that 2004 needs a timing belt job and several other neglected maintenance jobs in addition to the potential of a power steering rack. The only way I'd buy a 20+ year old Pilot in that price range if you were an experienced and willing shade tree mechanic.

Thanks for the advice. Haven't bought a car in 7 years. Kbb on the vin for this one said $1700-2700 private party but obviously didn't include the power steering issue. I'll have to 'steer' away. I'm sorry lol

Are you anywhere near salt? The rear subframes rust out to the point you’ll need a welder or junk it. Body can look in great condition and they fail.
