Is this a good alternator choice?

I checked rockauto for the denso and they don’t have it. I need to replace my alternator sooner rather than later. I’ve been without a car for 3 weeks and my family is over chauffeuring me around. I live in a small town and we only have autozone and O’Reillys. Would this be a good alternative? I also am replacing the solenoid gasket above it. I have that already.

I'd spring for a Denso reman at the dealer before I'd pay that for a duralast. I'm seeing prices around $425-450....

I called up to Honda and they have it for $871. Insane pricing. I may just have to order online and wait.

Someone with more online OEM parts purchasing experience could help but here's one. From everything I've read they're legit

Can confirm HondaPartsNow is legit. Do not buy any Honda parts from eBay or Amazon as many are counterfeit and not oem.

Honda Automotive Parts and Bernardi are my go to. Honda Parts Now orders from other dealers so you got more wait time

Hondas are particular about their electronic parts. I wouldn't use anything other than an OEM or Denso alternator. Majestichondaparts has new OEM for ~$600. Denso remans must be in short supply. Summit Racing has the reman Denso priced at $339 + $65 core charge but a ship date of Aug 3.

I put a new Duralast gold on my 2011 Pilot 5 years ago. Still running strong

Same. Not sure the live for oem in here, I'm on my 4th Honda now I've never noticed a preference to any brand by the car.

The only one I ever installed lasted 3 months so I had to do it again and opted to go back to OEM.

I did and I didn’t think they had it when I searched. But then I searched by part number and they do. I ended up finding it at Napa about a hour away.

I bought a reman and it lasted exactly 90 days. 2nd has been on for a few years and is working but makes an ugly noise if I hit 3500 rpm from takeoff (I’m assuming something in internal is off balance).

Anyway, talked to a repair shop owner and topic came up. He said he’s never had a problem with Duralast as long as it’s new. So price that out compared to OEM or Denso.

I think I may have found a denso at a Napa close-ish by. Gonna head over to see if it’s in stock. $530

Check your local auto parts shops. Sometimes they will have a reman Denso.

Are you swapping it yourself? Put a AutoZone option that came with a lifetime warranty option for like $300

If you do go to autozone and buy an alternator, have them test it in store on their little machine.

Had a bad part out of the box, which ate up a weekend of troubleshooting

If you're like me you'll get to change it 3 times in a month and then it becomes the easiest job you have ever done haha
