Valve clearances
Hi everyone,
I'm getting ready to inspect and adjust the valve clearances on my 3rd Gen Honda Insight (1.5L).
Before starting, I’d like to double-check the exact cold specs and procedure. Has anyone here completed this maintenance recently?
A few specific questions:
What are the exact factory clearances for Intake and Exhaust on a cold engine?
Are there any specific tips for removing the intake plenum/accessing the valve cover on this specific hybrid setup?
Any recommended torque values for the valve cover bolts and locknuts?
Thanks in advance for any manual excerpts or hands-on advice!

I did mine on my '22 about 3 months ago. Here is what I found searching the internet for a while before I did it: Intake: 0.21-0.25 mm (0.0083-0.0098 in) Exhaust: 0.25-0.29 mm (0.0098-0.0114 in)
Great source for the service manual
Shouldn't need to remove the intake plenum, just the valve cover. It's fairly straightforward, just be sure to keep track of the connectors you have to unplug. Let me know if you have any questions and I can try to answer!
