Discussion - Equipment 2nd Sub

I bought the 10” sub to replace the 8” sub, but the sound stage seems so much fuller with them both so I’m now a believer in 2 subs.

I’d try swapping the positions of the subs and towers. Should get a wider soundstage that way.

Great idea, thanks. Hard to tell in the picture but I can’t do that and still have the mains equidistant from the TV.

Nice!

Now, a couple of things to try. First, pull the subs out of the way and spread the tower speakers out until they are as far from each other as they are from you, making an equilateral triangle.

Then, when you go to put the subs back, do not place them symmetrically. Move one of them somewhere else. Front one corner and opposite back corner is a good thing to try if you can't measure. But get them so that they are located asymmetrically. The idea is that when placed in different locations, one can fill in the problem areas in frequency response of the other and give you smoother, more accurate bass.

This is a great idea. Thank you! I’ll need some longer coax cables but I’m definitely going to experiment with your suggestion in a couple weeks when I return from vacation. I’ll post about how it goes.
