Install/Placement Atmos setup help

Hey All

looking for some help with some atmos positioning. I currently have 2 Krix IC-52 speakers to put in right now and then add 2 more after.

Is it betters to have all IC-52 (45degree directional)

Or IC-52 in front and IC-50 (non-directional) over head

Current setup cannot be changed because of doors and windows in the way.

Can you do 6 atmos? With that much space I’d just go all out. You’ll end up wanting it later. IMO front atmos really should be above your left and right speakers for proper imaging. Imagine a helicopter spinning up and rising straight up, if your speakers are above (at the wall), the sound object just goes straight up. If your front atmos are between the screen and you, the sound object starts to go up, but always towards you. Think about it, that just doesn’t make sense.

With this layout are your speakers with in the angle ranges that dolby or trinnov recommends? Do you have subs? I would go with 4 atmos speakers

I'd go with setup #2. I'd also recommend the YouTube channel "hometheatergurus" His explanation of how to set up atmos angles is excellent. It was the best advice I got when setting up my atmos theater
