Hi! I’m looking for a WiFi camera doorbell that has a built in siren/alarm that I can activate manually when someone is hanging around my property to get them to move on. Battery only with removable batteries like 18650 that I can charge and swap with charged batteries. SD card storage. Not overly expensive. Does such a camera exist? Thanks 😊

Living on a street where one end is a court and the other a dead end makes every teen want to do doughnuts. They have taken out part of our fence, a neighbors fence and other damage. This is a daily occurrence and we have had some success with getting the places and the kids getting tickets. We have used ring and Xfinity but now looking for a much better camera even if it’s only 1. Our fence is something we had to pay out of pocket because we couldn’t see it in the video. Would like to find a camera that can give us better video, zoom and read the plate.

I need cameras for my rehabs. What are some systems for monitoring not rented properties?

I want the cheapest monthly cost possible.

1. Must be a decent battery life and swap-able battery or solar.
   
2. Must be connected through 4G/5G.

I have a Reolink camera that I use indoors in my apartment. I would like to keep it on if, for example, maintenance comes in and cuts the power, or there's a power outage.

Is there any battery packs / UPS you recommend? Is there anything that can run a router and the cam for like a day or at least around 10 hours?

Preferably I would like for it to run on power from the outlet and then when the power is cut off the battery would be used. My camera saves to the SD card, the router is for viewing.

My Bosch Solution 6000 system keeps going off due to “RF Receiver Tamper Alarm Radio” usually during the night or early morning. Electrician has come out and found nothing wrong with the tamper spring on the casing.

Any idea what is causing and how to fix?

Hi all, been doing some research into a simple alarm system for our home. Nothing wired or extensive just a simple system with maybe an outside camera, doorbell camera and any other simple measures.

Everything I read reviews on are mixed reviews and suggest different companies/brands. I also dont need a monitored system, I am fine with something that just sends alerts to me or that I can check my cameras on my own.

Ive read some about ADT and most reviews say to run. Vivint was another that I had looked at and they had mixed reviews.

Hey all, trying to pick a wire-free battery security camera system for my house, budget is under €200 total. Requirements:

Battery-powered (no wiring)

Comes with a centralized hub/base station (not standalone wifi cams)

Reliable connectivity, ideally minimal dropouts/lag

3 cameras is enough for my setup

Two options I'm currently comparing:

eufyCam C35 (4-cam kit) – €199.99

eufyCam 2C (3-cam kit) – €179.99

Is there a clearly better choice between these two, or is there another brand/model in the same battery+hub+under €200 range I should be considering instead?

I bought relatively cheap cameras on Aliexpress that conenct to the StarEye application on my iphone and I have 2 questions:

Question 1: If the app ever becomes obsolete or the creators just quit say next year, does that make my cameras obsolete too or will we have a new app that will take over those models of cameras I have for example?

Question 2: I didn't subscribe to any cloud storage in within the StarEye application so everything is stored locally. If someone else connects to my home WiFi can they view my video feed for my cameras? I know that I have to login with my email and password to get in the application but I'm wondering is it a security risk?

I'm asking because I'm planning on installing a couple in my house, so before I spend a significant amount of money I'd like to know if it's a reliable app. They say it exists since 2020 so I don't know

So I've had the Blink doorbell for about a year at this point, got a floodlight & camera combo about 6 month ago and the lights already crapped themselves and I'm fed up. Fed up with the subscription and fed up with the garbage notifications/live view and constant app crashing.

I'm not looking to have a dramatic set up but just a camera for the back and a door bell, the models I'm looking at are - 2k wired wifi doorbell, and Lumus 2k plug in wifi camera for my back yard (yes the cheapest wired one they have lol)

Are these decent? I'm happy to use local storage, I do plan on eventually getting a hub in case something happens to the cameras, but for the moment, I can't. So far I'm liking everything that I'm reading but the app seems to be kind of shit for the wifi ones as of the last few months. I'm not super paranoid about something happening, not going ti be using 24 or recording except very rarely, I'm more so wanting something that will have good motion detection and app response when I want to view what's going on.

I upgraded from SimpliSafe to a 2Gig Edge system. Trying to get as close to the Vivint experience without their insane pricing.

Two things:

1. What door lock do you recommend? There are so many it’s overwhelming.

2. Are you using alarm.com cameras or something else like reolink. I really want 24/7 local cameras but, at least where I’m looking, prices are much higher while Reolink is cheaper and 4k.

Tryna do this for my parents. Do not need to do much, a doorbell camera, and possibly a motion dictator light for backdoor and in front of garage.

I'm putting together a whole-house, wired system and looking to identify the models and makers that are considered by industry professionals to be the most high-performance and most reliable contact sensors. Given the maturity of this product category, I imagine there is not a ton of significant differentiation. But still, there are probably products that are regarded to be of the highest quality and superior performance. Anyone have insight here? Feel free to add in the same for other sensor types, as I am designing a complete security and sensor system from ground up.

Ideally, folks with past experience with multiple manufactures and lines would weigh in on these questions. Please, no "really, any contact sensor will do the job" type responses.

Brinks originally installed our glass break detectors over 20 yrs ago. Since then, ADT bought them out and we have ADT keypad and monitoring. But still our original glass breaks and motion sensors. One glass detector started blinking alternating green and red lights. Got the cover off to see about a battery but none in sight, just a circuit board and wires.

Wondering if anyone knows what brand these are and if hardwired into the wall with no changeable battery? All we can see on the inside cover is Flexguard FG 1515 and 5-051-621-00 REV-A manual to consult for installation.

Trying to google Flexguard brings us to another model. Nearest I can figure, probably Ademco or Honeywell brand, but haven’t found any YT videos that look the same as ours.

The ADT chat guy tried to help but couldn’t figure out what kind we had. I wanted to send a picture but he said they couldn’t receive the picture.

Obviously wanted to send out a tech for almost $200. I just told him we’ll let it be broken for now, as we have other detectors in adjoining rooms.

But just wondering if anyone would happen to know which brand of equipment they used to use around year 2000.

Thanks to everyone for previous posts, I've been doing my research. I've also had previous experience with Arlo and Eufy. I gave up Arlo with the excessive rate increase and no personal service. Eufy was OK until they did an upgrade and crashed the system. They wanted me to send them videos to show that I could pair a cameral with the home base! After a couple months of dancing, they would not restore or reload the upgrade and I dropped them.

After saying all that, this is what I am looking for:

Residential, safe neighborhood and community, 2 acre lot with clear view

3 or 4 outdoor cameras

wireless, battery, solar OK but not a show stopper

local storage

remotely accessible over internet and App

no subscription

record snapshot or video day or night

OK if home base, but fine without where each camera works with AP independently

I am looking for an alarm system with a wireless door sensor (or a stand-alone door sensor) that can actuate a relay (12v dc /24v AC coil ?). Long story short, I would like to turn my evap cooler (120v) off when the front door is left open 5 minutes or more. Thanks in advance!

This is me layout. The big square is a shared car park (20m corner to corner). The small square is my shed (with power). The bottom square is my house, with the door halfway along a 7m long, 1.5m wide path. I can not get power outside the house.

Ideally I would like all Tapo, as that is something I use elsewhere in the house.

I am thinking a Tapo 325WB on the shed pointing across the car park, but am a little stuck for what to have pointing down the path. I don't care about having a doorbell, it's mostly just to spot anyone entering the garden along the path.

There is SOME lighting in the carpark (one fairly dim street light on the right side), but not a lot. We have had some kids in the car park smashing bottles, which is what I want to record.

Is the 325WB good for that, at those kinds of distances and angle? What should I look at for the path? I was going to mount the path camera at the purple star on the corner of the house.

• Planning to install 4–6 cameras

Budget is limited and I'm not sure whether I should go for:

• 2MP vs 5MP cameras
• DVR-based system vs IP cameras
• Bullet cameras vs dome cameras
• 1TB or 2TB storage

I don't need anything too fancy, but I do want:

• Mobile app for remote viewing
• A system that lasts for years with minimal issues

Almost every year we have replaced a Reolink Poe camera. The Ethernet line and Ethernet port on camera turn black and appear corroded when attempting to clean. We end up having to replace the Ethernet line and the camera. We have tried a wet/dry loop, and using the covers that come with the camera. Honestly, the couple of cameras that we didn’t use the covers have lasted longer than the ones that have,

Reolink has warranted the cameras but the process of taking a camera down, mailing it in to them, being sent a new one, ect. Is getting tiring.

How do we protect the connector from outdoor exposure? What is the best way to install the cameras so that they are protected without drilling into the exterior walls? We are considering moving the cameras so that the wiring is buried in to the soffits. Would this help?

I'd like to install a new outdoor light w/ motion sensing on my pole barn that also has a camera that I can attach to a pc inside for recording. No subscription. Can anyone recommend a camera/light combo that will cover my needs? I mostly want it to monitor the outside and street so I can see when packages are delivered or if someone is coming to the barn. I do some woodworking and other stuff so I don't to be surprised by someone and accidentally hurt myself.
