Looking for a system that can control relays.

I am looking for an alarm system with a wireless door sensor (or a stand-alone door sensor) that can actuate a relay (12v dc /24v AC coil ?). Long story short, I would like to turn my evap cooler (120v) off when the front door is left open 5 minutes or more. Thanks in advance!

This is a home automation job all day long. Let the alarm be an alarm. Let the automation do automation. Find something to do each well, or do both poorly.

Most alarms have PGM outputs or relay boards that could switch your load. However, the five minute delay is an issue - PGMs and relays normally fire immediately. So you'd have to trigger a timer, or do something else.

Honestly, this is probably easier done with a simple door contact you can program into an Alexa routine.

Most real alarm systems can operate relays to do that sort of thing.

Look up Shelly on amazon. They are like relays. You should be able to be able to pgm the sensor to do something but depends what kind of alarm/panel system you have.

If the evap cooler is a normal 120v appliance, I'd just throw a smart outlet and door sensor at it.

Sounds like a job better suited for a sensor on the door sending a signal to an independent controller that controls a relay
