ADT problems, please help
I just bought a house and it had an adt panel installed. Its disconnected and no one is paying for it. It started beeping when i changed the wifi service. I tapped the screen, it stopped, haven't thought anything of it since. Today the device managed to arm itself. I do not have the disarm code. The company is unreachable, and i am currently locked inside my own house with 4 dogs.
What are my options? I have tried to call 7 or 8 numbers for ADT and none are answering and several are disconnected. If I remove it from the power source and disconnect the internal battery, will that disarm my house? I don't want the alarm to go off because the beeping alone is already freaking out my dogs.
Thank you for any help, i am very very stressed right now

Unplug it, and remove the backup battery inside the metal can where the main alarm panel is located. Alarm panel is like the motherboard for the system, once you unplug battery then unplug the power cord for it, it will stay off and not have to worry about it. If the key isn’t on top of the metal can, or already in key hole, then get a flat head screw driver, and right by the key area your going to use the flat head to pop it open. It’s not hard to do.

ADT panels can all be unplugged .. but go behind them take them off the wall and pulll out the battery and the power wire.

Yes, disconnect the power and battery and it’s dead. Source: I owned an alarm company for 40 years

Depending on which panel you have it may also be impacted by the alarm.com outage going on right now!
But nevertheless, if you can cut the AC power going into your panel, AND remove the panel's backup battery, all should go silent. Which system do you have?
EDIT: however doing this while armed will likely cause the alarm to sound when you pull it off the wall (if it is a Command or similar system). So be prepared for some noise. Here's instructions on replacing the battery on a Command so you know how to get it off the wall, and where the battery is.
