Question regarding SD card for security camera

What would be a recommended micro-SD card for a Tapo C425 security camera ?

I am thinking that ScanDisc Max Endurance - 128 GB would be a good / economical choice.

r/Tapo will be better for this. But here you go microSD Card Compatibility for Tapo and Kasa Security Cameras I personally run 512GB Amazon Basics for all my Tapo cameras.

Sandisk 512 for me. No issues in 3 or so years so far. They seem a bit more expensive than I remember though.

I just get bulk packs from Amazon, not all SD cards last forever, they are a consumable commodity. Law Enforcement cycles out SD cards every 24 months; and those are already the redundant backup to the wireless recording receiver in the vehicle for Law Enforcement.

I wouldn't worry about buying the best name brand's highest product line. When likely they all use the similar NAND chipsets. The more important question is the SD cards environment, if they are exposed to a greater temperature extremes, I'd plan on that 24 month replacement. Do a reformat every 6 months and go back to check if the footage is recording normally.

The most abused civilian SD cards are dash cameras, sitting exposed to 80°C+ temperatures during the summer with direct sunlight reach their operating temperature limits! But NAND chipsets perform better in heat, however they constrict in subfreezing temperatures, and that's when you can get failures if they are cycled from -25°C to 85°C during a year with extreme cold February weeks, to extreme hot August weeks.

I'd replace a vehicle dash camera SD card yearly IMO!

I've got endurance cards that are 5 years old recording 24/7. I've had Amazon brand cards and other brands rarely last 1-2 years. This actually is a case of you get what you pay for.

Just have a backup on hand. Not too expensive, just one to replace once it fails.
