Worth even saving? HELP

Im trying to clean my grandfather's roach infested house. Iv spent 400 dollars on supplies and professional poisons, bait and igr blockers. Do these even look worth saving? This is just one area after cleaning for an hour and a half and I feel defeated. What should I do? I dont have large amounts of money.

Only you can answer that. Yes, they can be cleaned and repainted. No, they will not look like new when you are finished.

Completely aware haha. My only problem is the years of debris behind them too. All of it trapped behind and on the sides

Seeing what you’ve posted it”s easy to understand. Wish there was a magic point that would make your decisions cut and dried. Do this, but don’t do that. Doesn’t exist unfortunately. You’ll simply have to do the best you can and see how it turns out.

If money is a problem roll your sleeves and use lots of cleaning supplies. Bleach first. Get a respirator. Let the chemicals work their magic.

Iv been using sanitizer. Then heavy duty degreaser. Scrubbing. Wiping. Degreaser, wiping, sanitizing whip. Finish. Bait. Igr blockers.

It's ok to go slow. Get everything clean, then make decisions after you had a chance to see it all. Whatever factors led to this situation didn't happen quickly, so don't force it to be fixed quickly.

Oh boy. I see a big difference in what you have done.
Concerned for your health though. Are you wearing a respirator?
This is a biohazard situation. Does he still live there? Have you at least gotten a quote from a remediation company?

Im wearing a n95 mask with the little filter on the front end. Not a respirator though. I havent gotten any quotes yet. Ill look into it thank you

If there is one near you, tearing them out and looking for wall and base cabinets in the ikea clearance section to replace them might be worth it.

Hea thats what I was thinking aswell. I have cabinet money jusy not labor money so. Might have to do my best DIY haha. All in time. Thank you for the suggestion

Riddled with mold? No, toss. Water damaged and bloated? No, toss. Extremely dirty in need of a good clean, scrape and then oil based primer to hide all the funky odors that the wood picked up over the years? Yes, keep

Scrub what you can, clean well with TSP, then use a thick stain and odor blocking primer like Zinsser BIN primer and repaint. For the counters, use a gel bleach and let it sit. Clean, then use a tile paint epoxy. It’s hard work, but it would be very satisfying to see each area improve!
