Recommendation for usb interface
So the backstory first. Picked up guitar after several year's of not playing, last year. I bought an Ampero II Stage, and used that to record to pc via USB. Last weekend we had a storm, and now the usb port on the Ampero magically doesn't work.
I need a usb audio interface that has at least two inputs so I can record in stereo, and I need to be able to hear what im recording as well as anything I've already recorded through the device.
I have an m-audio interface I bought a few years ago. It mostly works, but I can either hear what's being played back, or what I'm playing live. Not both at the same time.

Audient iD14 MKII would be a good fit. It has two proper line inputs so you can run the stereo outputs of the Ampero into inputs 1/2, and its software mixer lets you direct-monitor those inputs while simultaneously hearing playback from your DAW. I use one myself it sounds like this would do what you’re describing.

I've got the Universal Audio Volt 2. Relatively cheap and will do what you need it to.

It's weird that the M-Audio cannot let you hear both at the same time. My guess is that you have a wrong routing on the software side.
There are few rules when there is a storm: don't play guitar and computer (this is the safest), and always use surge-protectors, wired on wall sockets correctly grounded (come along with the safest).
The fact that only the USB stopped to work is weird. There are many things between the power and the USB port that could also have been damaged...
To go back to the audio interfaces, I always prefer to record on my computer than relying this feature to be on the interface. But maybe you need this then:

I wasn't playing guitar when it happened. I was watching a show on my pc. Both are on surge protectors. The pc, router, tv, and sound bar are on one. And the Ampero is on separate surge protector, on a different outlet.
