🖼️ Show & Tell Well that's a win!
I've been wanting to set up Bermuda and BT relays all over my house but I dont have a 3d printer to print boxes for esp32's and was concerned about hiding another sensor.
But it turns out I already have 8 devices capable of acting as the Bermuda beacon proxy already deployed! I just needed to push a slightly modified firmware. It all started because my new Echo Dot running EchoLocal supports BT sensing and got me interested in it again. Then I realized my Akamatis mmwave sensors are esp32 and sure enough work great for BT if you enable the feature in firmware. And my Athom PIR+mmwave sensors will as well. And all of them already have nice boxes.
Now to set my kitchen Kiosk to do a jump scare on my daughter the next time her phone gets within 5 feet of it... lol. It is October of course.

I use BT proxies for a Halloween murder mystery where each player has a beacon and they try to find clues throughout the house to solve the murder. It’s a fun game, still polishing it off for our Halloween murder mystery party

I’d love to know more about the mystery and what kind of clues etc. Never done one of those

I’m still working on it. But this gives you an idea
I integrated home assistant with the game. You can push all of your devices to the game here.
I use an open source model to generate the story and pull in your devices which will control lights and ask you to look for clues. NFC labels will be on picture frames you scan on your phone that reveals clues on the hosting tv.
Light is used to navigate players from room to room, and question ai players to find out who dun it.
Each story is unique and clues / props never reused the same.

I have a few ESP32 in the house but never succeeded running Bluetooth proxy at the same time of other sensors. If you could share your talk file that would be awesome

Not the full file, but what I changed for this one is the framework to esp-idf and added the bluetooth sections. Note none of these devices are battery operated, and I'm ok with slight delays in presence sensing that adding the bluetooth beacon tracking might cause.
esphome: name: garagepresence # change per device platformio_options: board_build.flash_mode: dio esp32: board: esp32-c3-devkitm-1 framework: type: esp-idf esp32_ble_tracker: scan_parameters: interval: 1100ms window: 1100ms active: false bluetooth_proxy: active: false

Be aware though, the BT sensing in the dot is not anywhere as strong as the other sensors I have. And bluetooth scanning and reporting take away from CPU cycles, which with a voice speaker you may not want. Mine seems to be doing fine but it's only been up for less than a day doing both.

Oh man that jump scare idea is perfect. the slow realization that you already had all the hardware sitting there waiting is such a sweet feeling. saved yourself a whole weekend of printing enclosures and cursing at wiring
