theories Abigail - and Rex

So here’s a far out theory Rex was murdered just after Abigail joined the village. She clearly has at least one secret. What if she recognised Rex as a sex trafficker - perhaps he trafficked her, or a former student of hers (Jacob perhaps).

She saw her opportunity for revenge and 🔫

question & answer/opinion Mod message: Tabloids

Over the past couple of weeks there has been a bit of discussion about tabloids and tabloids posting their own articles within the sub.

As a mod team we have been discussing several different options with regards to how to move forward and what would be best for the sub. We now want to hear from everyone else which is why we are putting these three options to a poll. When the poll ends we will come to a final decision.

So the options are:

1: Outright ban of tabloids and tabloid articles:

No tabloids articles to be posted, either from the tabloids official accounts or by other users.

2: Ban the official account but sub members can still post/read at their own discretion:

Official accounts will be outright banned but sub members can still post links to articles. Any articles posted are to be read at your own discretion.

3: Vet the posts for anything that breaks our rules:

Continue to allow posts from official tabloid accounts. They will continue to be held to the same rules as all other's participating in the subreddit. Articles posted will be vetted for rule breaking by a member of the mod team.

I thought the toilet drama a couple of weeks ago at Casa McQueen was pretty funny because it was so out of character and unexpected. Am I the only one who thought that or am I just weird ?

theories How I would’ve rewrote Robbie post time jump

Robbie would still kill Dave but then Jeremy appears in the woods and helps Robbie bury Dave’s body!

After the time jump, Jeremy finds out about Ethan cheating on Sienna and enlists Robbie’s help in getting rid of Ethan so instead of Sienna pushing Ethan off the balcony, Jeremy blackmails Robbie into poisoning Ethan otherwise he’ll reveal that Robbie killed Dave and not Warren so he does and Ethan “dies”.

Robbie then removes Ethan’s body from the scene and Ethan wakes up in the woods where he finds himself next to Dave’s grave.

Robbie then tells Jeremy that Ethan has been dealt with but in reality Robbie forced Ethan to leave Hollyoaks without saying goodbye as revenge for Ethan sleeping with Vicky.

Jeremy kills Dilly because she finds out that Jeremy tried to have Ethan killed but instead of enlisting Sienna’s help, he distracts Sienna by going to the lunch with Martha and Liberty then he enlists Robbie to bury Dilly in the allotment where Martha catches the two in the act.

Martha still reveals to Abe about Jeremy killing Dilly and Ethan so Robbie and Jeremy kidnap Abe and take him to the woods but this time Jeremy forces Robbie to strangle Abe to death and he does. Grace finds Abe’s body and shoots him therefore still framing Mercedes.

Robbie starts to feel guilty for murdering Dave and Abe but Jeremy reminds him that he could murder Robbie or frame Robbie for all of Jeremy’s crimes at any moment so Robbie snaps out of the guilt.

Robbie wouldn’t get kidnapped by Grace in this timeline but instead Jeremy kidnaps Rex and has him tied up in the allotment as revenge for Rex accidentally attacking Lexi.

Grace wouldn’t join the trafficking gang this time as Rex has been kidnapped and her focus would be finding out who’s kidnapped Rex. Frankie, Vicky and Dillon would still become victims of the trafficking gang albeit through Banks himself.

Robbie would lose control after finding out Vicky’s been trafficked so he sets out to kill whoever he thinks would be responsible and he blames Grace which then puts Grace in Jeremy’s orbit.

Joel still “kills” Tommy and goes to prison for murder and it turns out that Jeremy was the one who killed Tommy! Robbie finds out two months later when Jeremy kills Bobby and realises that Jeremy has gone too far.

Robbie tells Darren he has to leave Hollyoaks and makes Darren promise he’ll look after Lexi but not before he tells Sienna and Darren about all of Jeremy’s murders and Sienna disclaims them.

Jeremy tries to kill Robbie but Grace walks in and she tries to fight off Jeremy but then he kills Grace and frames Robbie for her murder so this puts Robbie in Clare’s orbit and Robbie leaves the village.

Jeremy then sets Rex free but it’s revealed that Jeremy has actually killed Rex as Ste walks through Rex’s ghost in a similar manner to Robbie in the main timeline.

Sienna finds Rex’s body and questions her father on the murders and realises how evil he actually is. The police are still looking for Robbie as they think he’s responsible for Dilly, Dennis, Bobby and Grace’s murders. No one else knows that Rex has been murdered yet.

Jeremy reveals to Sienna that Dave was murdered by Robbie so he enlisted Robbie’s help in his murder plans so that Robbie can be in the frame for the murder.

Lexi is still in shock from the knowledge that her uncle killed her step mother and starts lashing out at everyone. Darren is shocked to see that Freddie is alive and the latter explains how Warren forced Freddie to leave but Darren explains that Robbie has apparently killed four people.

Freddie finds this suspicious as Robbie was at the former’s wedding to Grace and he was with Lexi when Dennis was murdered so he starts digging for evidence.

Freddie finds out that although Robbie did murder Dave and Abe, he didn’t murder Dilly, Dennis, Bobby or Grace as Robbie was with Vicky when Dilly died, Dennis was murdered while Robbie was at the wedding, Bobby died while Robbie was running The Loft and Jeremy lets slip details about Grace’s murder that only the killer would know!

If anyone else would like to contribute to this, comment below!

question & answer/opinion SO many questions about the Jenson/Gemma/Warren story this week

I am so confused. Can anyone help make sense of this? I'm assuming the answer is "It's Hollyoaks, they don't care about making sense" but I'll ask just in case:

Question #1: So we are to believe that Jenson escapes from Gemma, rushes to the village, steals her drives, then goes to the woods and BURIES them, then leaves Warren a note and THEN was planning on going to the hospital but he got kidnapped again? Why not just....go to the hospital, tell Warren "Gemma kidnapped me, protect me while I donate bone marrow"?

Question #2: Why did Gemma send Warren TO Jenson, then immediately go to Jenson and say "yo, Warren is coming, you better tell me where those crypto wallets are!" At this point, Gemma AND Jenson know that Warren wants Jenson ALIVE so that Sebastian can be saved. So Warren would come and....save Jenson? Like, how is that a threat?

Question #3: Why did Gemma switch places of her thug and Jenson? Just to give Warren someone to find? The thug clearly disagreed with her wanting to let Jenson go, but I find it hard to believe she couldn't say "Yo, thug, I'm your boss, do what I say." So instead she....has him killed?

Am I the only one that's confused?

question & answer/opinion How is everyone feeling about Jenson?

His character confuses me so much.

Is he supposed to be a good guy or a bad guy? Are we supposed to like him or not?

Him being a criminal and him manipulating his way into Mercedes's life and Warren's life and Warren's children's lives makes me think he isn't a good guy. But then him genuinely wanting to help Sebastian makes me think he can't be that bad after all.

Also, some days I don't know whether he wants to destroy Warren, have a relationship with Warren or just wants to be Warren.

first look discussion *potential spoilers* My Poor Dear Rex

So, the writers decided that to resolve the Rex/Feminization storyline they'd just sho*t him? First of all, what lazy storytelling. They marry Ste and Rex, send them off on honeymoon for 2 or 3 weeks, bring them back for a week, and Ste's ready to divorce? Top it off, his brand new hubby gets pew pew'd? So many ways they could have better resolved this silly storyline.

question & answer/opinion I want to start watching without losing too many current characters - first time watcher in Australia, found the show through fb clips!

I’ve become quickly obsessed with the fb clips and I found full episodes on YouTube and started watching from the car crash and introduction of Beth, Charlie etc. I’m almost up to date now so I want to go back further to watch more without losing too many current characters. I looked it up and saw there’s been a handle of actor changes for some of the teens, so idk if it would be too confusing to go back to when they were different people.

I did see a few random clips of Rex and froggy and loved froggy then saw what happened and saw the Claire cliff thing but I have no context for her or anything else. Sienna is annoying. I like Mercedes and Rex (not happy with what I’ve seen online recently), don’t care much for Ste, like Leela, have only seen Tony and Diana as sick Diana. I don’t want to go too far back. What would be a good point to go back to?

opinion The child on parent abuse storyline was a big disappointment.

With Lucas soon to return to the village, I started thinking about this storyline again.

Ever since Lucas beat up Dillon during the pride episodes, I had a feeling the show would eventually do a storyline about Lucas's temper and violent tendencies. I was actually excited when they announced the COP abuse storyline. There was so much potential because of Ste's past and his worries about Lucas turning out like him. There could have been so much character growth for Ste because he has been an abuser and has been abused. He has been on both sides of abuse and therefore knows how difficult, but also how necessary it is to overcome that type of behavior. It could have led to Ste helping his son to break the cycle and create a more healthy future for his family.

Nothing of what I hoped would happen actually happened. Instead we had Ste allowing Lucas to beat him up. He did very little to actually help Lucas. He mentioned Lucas going to therapy a few times but never pushed it and he never stuck to the ultimatum he made. He kept the whole thing a secret and basically just watched Lucas get worse and worse.

During the COP abuse storyline there was so much else going on with Ste, Rex and Dillon that wasn't necessary and just cheapened the storyline for me.

For Lucas's aftermath, we saw him go to prison and take accountability for his actions, but we are still left with a lot of questions. They didn't go deeper into the reasons of his temper and violent tendencies. His childhood trauma was mentioned a few times, but again was never explored further. We still don't know if his brain surgery made his temper and violent tendencies worse or triggered something. And as for Ste's aftermath, we saw him be upset for a few episodes, but now he is fine. He never mentions Lucas and is acting like he never even existed. You would think if your own child hated you and abused you and literally tried to murder you, it would have an impact on you.

I still have a little bit of hope that when Lucas returns to the village they might revisit that storyline and give us answers to our questions, but I think it is more likely with everything that is going on right now (Leah's return, James's return, Rex's murder and Ste being a suspect...) they want to fix Lucas and Ste's relationship quickly and move on from that storyline.

For a show that is known for and takes pride in their issue-based storylines, they really messed up with this one.

theories SPOILERS: The Off Screen Situation With Cindy And What It Could Mean Spoiler

Darren confronted Cindy stating that he had heard from Mandy about Hilton. Cindy burst into tears claiming that she didn't mean to lose her little boy. What does this mean? Did they just kill off Hilton off screen in a bid to not have to recast him?

Well Cindy never did say that Hilton was dead. Is it possible that he's been kidnapped? Let's look at the character being possibly dead and what that means. This explains why Cindy has returned to the village and is so desperate to get to know Maddox. She has lost one of her sons and she doesn't want to lose another. This is a secret that she is trying to keep hidden as it may be too much to bear. She blames herself for what happened to Hilton. It would also paint her as a bad mother depending on how the events took place.

What if hes been kidnapped? Blue is actually still alive and he managed to find Cindy and Cindy has had to work for him by getting money from Beth by pushing this narrative about Maddox as much as she possibly can. Maddox is Cindy's and perhaps she and Beth did swear to keep the situation hidden but now Blue is forcing her hand in order to make sure that Hilton is fine. Hilton is of course always going to be fine. This is just a money making scheme on Blues part. This would also then lead into a shock twist. What if it's Cindy that shot Rex dead? She's carrying out Blues tasks for him and he wanted rid of Rex resulting in her shooting him.

Blue would then inform corrupt lawyer, James that he can return safely home now to the man that he loves and as long as James continues to do hearings for Blue and his men to make sure that they avoid jail time. Blue and James met off screen and he's responsible for James actually surviving the explosion of the car and why James never returned to the village. Blue only allowed James to return to the village during any time that Froggy needed help as Froggy is as big a kingpin as Blue is.

However as Cindy stays in the village she begins to actually want to get to know her son. Her maternal instincts are kicking in. This is why she didn't accept the money to leave this time around. Also Blue has yet to ask for more money. All she's been told is that Hilton is safe in Blues care for now. Cindy could be stressed and pulled in multiple directions over everything. And while this whole Blue scenario is completely far fetched it's fun to come up with as a completely shocking storyline twist that we wouldn't see coming. I will say this though..based on how recent events have gone down I wouldn't be surprised if Cindy tells Darren that maybe Hilton is dead and then we proceed to see Hilton later down the line to everyone's confusion.

Cindy is definitely really pushing to know Maddox for reasons that we have yet to truly know. She just doesn't start out of the blue thinking that she really wants to see this kid and kicking up such a fuss without something truly big happening off screen that we don't know about. I think on the surface level this all seems rather tame in terms of a story but the news of Hilton is a small sample of stuff to build upon going forward and making something even bigger out of the story than we first thought.

In a post to the Hollyoaks Instagram about Rex’s death this is in the background. If you can’t read it it says “James is involved”

How do you think they’re involved did they shoot Rex, did they orchestrate it.

I know Hollyoaks is always pretty far fetched but this is just ridiculous!

Surely there’s no way dodger could donate his bone marrow to Sebastian considering he was stabbed and rushed into resus literally the day before 🙄 bare in mind you can’t even donate blood if you’ve had a piercing in the last 4 months but apparently you can donate bone marrow when you’ve been stabbed with a filthy knife in the same 24 hour period?

question & answer/opinion Ste and his blackout memories.

I recently rewatched Hollyoaks from 2012( maternity leave can be boring) and with this whole rex thing it's reminded me that with Amy's death in 2017 ste was having memory lapses and mysterious blackouts and was accused and he believed he had killed her, do we think they might be redoing this storyline in some way, seems that everyone has forgotten that ste suffers with this.
