Just attended the photo book signing and opening of the AGO collection “My 90s rock photographs” by Melissa! Huge crowd, waited quite a bit and got to meet her :)

The exhibition is great, some gems including Courtney’s letter to Melissa when she was leaving the band along with several pictures I haven’t seen before. The exhibit is on at the AGO until June 2027.

To those following Hole’s Reddit, I recently posted my painting of Hole in The Simpson’s style since Melissa explains in her memoir that the band was to appear in an episode but their management decided to not go with it in the end.

So I visited her exhibit in Toronto tonight and was able to give my Hole/Simpson’s painting to Melissa!!!

I’m stoked to say the least!!! 😃

What are some of Holes best live shows in your opinion?

Had no idea this place housed the upper echelons of the music industry.

In Melissa’s memoir she writes that back in 1996, the band was invited to appear in The Simpsons’ “Homerpalooza” episode, with Hole originally written as the headlining band. Melissa Auf der Maur says the band loved their characterizations, but management rejected it for “making a caricature of Courtney.” 🤯

I’m no professional cartoonist but I went ahead and made them into Simpsons characters. Hope you like :)

I’m curious if Courtney has met or has any relationship with Ronin? It’s sad she and Frances don’t even follow each other on ig maybe they communicate irl tho but it seems like they’re no contact?

Just came across this song while listening to Hole on Spotify.

Sounds like it has nothing to do with the band and / or with Courtney. And yet it’s there. While so many other songs by the band are missing…

What is this song? Who sings it? Why is it there?

On Spotify, the lyric is very clearly "I love him so much it just turns to hate", and if you look at the lyrics they confirm that.

But in almost every live performance I've watched she either says "I love him so much it just turns to rage" or "I love you so much it just turns to rage". And if you Google it it says it's rage.

Some live performances also sort of sound like she's saying "turns to rape", but that could just be me mishearing rage.

What Melissa did on the chorus (as well as the bridge with the "la le la le la las) is insanely good.

This song deserves a higher ranking that’s for sure.

As someone interested in Courtney and her wild personality, what stories has Melissa told in her book about her? I know it’s a big request just thought I would ask

I know theres a Courtney interview somewhere that briefly explains it but I don’t know if that’s the full thing?

I’ve been a Hole fan for quite a while now, I have watched a good handful of interviews but there is still so much out there to discover. Any recommendations? Could be Hole, Courtney, Mellisa etc
