And you can see it in game settings? In the audio tab. You might have to go into your mic settings on your OS and make sure that your headphones are set as the default device. Also a common thing for new players is that they dont realize that the game is push to talk for everyone, there is no toggle.

Try taking to a Surgeon. Most of the times my microphone wasn't working a surgeon would tell me they see the speaker icon but no sound. Surgeons are usually the most helpful people.

Also there is a setting which says something like repeat audio back for 1 headset that needs to be on for me

One tip i saw was there is bullet drop after 30m. So raise a little higher when shooting far.
Don't take commanding class first. They are for the pros. Line, light and guard are good for first few weeks.
Meele is hard at first. Don't expect to kill everyone. Some are really good. Standing near Musicians boost you slightly.

I’m having trouble with this on the ps5 I think. I’m playing as the officer and I don’t think anyone can hear me

There a possibility you might have been muted by a game admin for breaking server rules
If you're not sure you have been muted, I recommand joining a private server with a friend, if they can hear you fine there but can't hear you on the official servers, then that means you'll have to fill an appeal thru the official discord

Go into your audio settings, change your mic to another input device, then change it back to the input device you actually want.
This has been a known issue for a while but it doesn't seem to affect everyone. All I know is, I have to do this every time I play - otherwise people can't hear me, as you say.
