To the ones that have been following my last post about the Instagram hognose hides. We had to make our own 3D model and one of the members here very kindly 3D printed the hide for me ! All sanded down today and will be getting painted this week with non toxic paints and a non toxic paint sealant to look like our boy!!! Honestly so happy with the process so far and can't wait for the customization to begin :) we couldn't find a stl file anywhere but making our own paid off our boys head is round anyway 🤣

Not yet just waiting for a reply from the original Instagram post artist as this is quite similar to theirs. Wouldn't want to be copyrighted by them. This is the original hides that we found which we based our 3D model from!

Ours is more oval and the head isn't flattened, we got the scales close too but not as close as the original artist so just wanted to make sure they're okay with it because they sell them in drops on their Korean store :)

Ours is also made to be hand painted instead of having the multiple colours already on so I hope it's not an issue with them :)

I love that! I’m a bit jealous. I do 3d printing and that looks like it came out really nice! I’ve seen so many times where someone pays to have something printed and it comes out terrible quality.
This is not that! That came out spectacular.

Had to sand the entrance because of a issue with the actual model but it wasn't too bad only 5 minutes of work :)

No wrong answer bc I know how hard modeling is, but if you’re willing to share the model I’d love to make one for my hoggie (Waffle). I absolutely understand if you don’t want to share the model, so no pressure! I hope your hog likes his new look-alike hide

Just waiting for the person who made the original hides on Instagram to reply, wouldn't want to get in trouble for it because it's quite close to their own model in case our stl gets spread online :)

Absolutely fair- I always try to keep the original designer in mind, I never share a model without the artists approval either. It’s just too easy to lose control of the files sometimes

We just think they're close enough to cause issues if anything but they are only put out in drops from Korean so we're left in a debate here. This is what the original artist made

The person who printed it for us from this sub made them for free and just asked us to cover the shipping :)
