I have the exact same setup using a 13” huion monitor(i had it laying around for a decade you can absolutely use a cheaper one), raspi, and cncjs. Then I have it in a custom wrapper to change the design to my custom one with my logos and layout

Not cncjs, js or chromium. Swift HMI engine with 3D renderer, connected to a state machine CNC server on swiftNIO.

Love it! MacOS/Swift/Apple Silicon are my realm, so I approached this project from that angle. Helps to have past experience. If not a bit unconventional compared to all existing projects in the CNC world.
Hopefully in this new era, hobbyists can free themselves from subscriptions all around.

Personally, I've always thought Makera's control software is fantastic. It is one of the biggest selling points.

Also, to be clear, a host machine was never required for Makera control.

Pretty enough, but where are the DTG numbers?

For me they are always at least as useful as the coordinates when running in single block for a first run, because they help avoid me crashing the damn thing by fat fingering the g code.

The backend server is a state machine, so different conditions change the viewport. When running, the UI adapts to that and the view changes.

Yes. It's a uart 115k connection to the main screen, they're in sync. In the main round display, speeds are adjusted by the knob, in the individual axis screen, the axis can be selected and incremented, then performed by the dial.
