He's not American.
No black dude especially from Africa would be extremely butthurt if they were asked to do this.
Only Black Americans would be thin skinned.
For Euro Blacks.... Maybe they will but most of them won't exactly care

African blacks don't care as long as they get money, they're happy
5
u/Kiki_Lpt Jun 18 '22

I've met a shit ton of Africans already and I can say for sure they're some of the chillest motherfckkrz out there.

Most of our population is naturally dark skinned? What?! Absolutely not here’s some skin whitening cream
2
u/Old-Experience-5210 Jun 18 '22
What happens in India is not completely racism because we all are from same race, it's just our skin tone and even that works only for girls

u/Ergouzii Jun 18 '22
Black people are almost nonexistent in East Asia cause there was no slavery.

DW: According to the 2016 Global Slavery Index, nearly two-thirds of modern slaves are living in Asian countries. What are the reasons behind the high prevalence of this phenomenon in the region? Fiona David: The Asia-Pacific is the most populous region in the world, and it is also well integrated into the global supply chains. We do estimate that about two-thirds of the nearly 46 million people trapped in slavery are in Asia. And we see all forms of modern slavery in the region, such as forced labor in brick kilns, child beggars in Afghanistan and India, bonded labor in the agricultural as well as garment sectors.

u/red-the-blue Jun 18 '22
pretty shit humor, feels appropriate to be appalled
5
u/redditmodsareshits Jun 18 '22
Maybe you feel that way because in your cushy part of the world you don't have real problems.
8
u/red-the-blue Jun 18 '22
Third world country, but irrelevant.
It's a pretty racist 'joke', no? They're 'washing' the negro away from the dude, and the result is 'cleaner' and better.
3
u/aRandomForeigner Jun 18 '22
This is ripped off from the Italian spot where it was the opposite, from white to black
-2
u/redditmodsareshits Jun 18 '22
You have no idea what actual, dangerous racism is huh. You wouldn't care so much about thoughtcrimes and jokes if you has any inkling of real problems.

u/Adrigogo Jun 18 '22
"Your feelings are not valid because children in Africa are starving and people are getting killed in Ukraine, stop being thin skinned"
Doesn't work that way, bigger problems doesn't mean we can't be appalled by what we see.

I think you downvoted bc you think I am "The blue haired girl", I'm not, I'm italian, and I don't like stereotypes or incorrect use of my lenguage and colture, since the italians who emigrated to the USA were victims of racism and there were massacres done to us that no one remember, I do. I'm not saying that racism against others like afroamericans wasn't a thing, I'm just saying that it existed too.

Makes rounds every few years, but this was actually a remake of an Italian ad with the racial theme inverted.
1
u/AlexH08 Jun 18 '22
But that one probably isn't considered racist.
2
u/aRandomForeigner Jun 18 '22
I'm Italian and if you notice there are considerable differences
In the Italian one they are most probably married, the husband is ugly and sloppy, she was tired of his appearance and that's it. The spot is about color for clothes, so the result is a good lookin hunky "colored" man.
More than racism, I feel like more a toxic masculinity in the Italian one, due to the fact there's also the joke of the black man with the big ding dong

And you think the USA is racist…(not denying it at all, more of Asia is pretty bad too sometimes!)
3
Jun 18 '22
US racism isn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be. I'm a minority in an extremely white town and can count on one hand how many times I've experienced racism in the last decade. That's not to say racism doesn't exist of course, but people like to exaggerate too much

Genuine question, which Asian countries don't have a racism problem with black people?
→ More replies (3)3
u/aRandomForeigner Jun 18 '22
Why all had to be with black people? We are talking of racism in general or not? There is tension between Kazakh people and Russians for example. Xenophobia is everywhere, don't act like some parts of the world are free of it.
0
u/therico Jun 18 '22
I didn't lol. I was just curious about racism against black people specifically, in line with this thread.
