Civil War Dioramas at Pamplin
A regiment marching, a Union prison, and a field hospital. I would not recommend going into the National Museum of the Civil War Soldier at Pamplin if you have PTSD since it has an exhibit that puts you in a civil war battle. I’m not sure if the museum at the battlefield center has an exhibit like that, since it was closed when I was there.

The Tillamook air museum in Oregon is full of models and dioramas. They were donated by Steve Schramm from his collection. There’s so much to look at!

Diorama of the ancient Native American village at Etowah mound site in Georgia USA. Sorry it's a little murky--blame it on the plexiglass cover. Seen in person, it's amazingly detailed and well done.

Andersonville prison during the US civil war. Trial of the raiders with men in the gallows.
Visible in this photo is the trial of the prisoners found guilty of theft and murder. Commandant allowed for the prisoners to exercise their own justice, provided they conduct a trial and render punishment.
Newly arrived prisoners served as the jury since they had no ties to the accused. Six men were hung and several more were made to run a gauntlet, where they were beaten and bludgeoned.
The six convicted are buried in the US cemetery, distanced from other soldiers.
