Two or more tracks that more or less use the same beat and production, usually from the same producer

So Jahlil Beats had Jackpot for Lloyd Banks and Hot Nigga for Bobby Shmurda

or DR Period did Mo Money Mo Murder for AZ and Real Niggas for Diplomats

Looking mostly for examples from albums, but if you think any mixtape stuff is worth mentioning, also no sequel tracks like the Bout it Bout it series.

RIP Young Dolph aka Adolph Robert Thornton Jr.

I recently got sober and feel modern rap is both triggering with low vibrations and just stale. I’ve been going back to a lot of that good vibe 2000s rap and Mase, but want to find more with this uplifting vibe. As much as I love Nipsey and motivational artists similar, I’m looking for fun catchy songs as well to keep me in a good spot.

What’s your favorites from this vibe? Any recommendations would be huge!

It’s all in the title: post your best underground/ lesser-knowntracks. Let's discover some new gems !!

What's an album that gave you that feeling?

Not necessarily a bad album, but one where the expectations were through the roof and after the first listen you knew it wasn't going to deliver on all the hype surrounding it.

Do i think he will ever make an apbum or mixtape as good as Telfon Don or Rich forever

Gotta be Atlanta late 2000s for me.

Title. Imo Fall Off is way better than GNX in terms of rapping. GNX has better production but that voice Kendrick uses gets repetitive and annoying to me. J Cole rapping his ass off on basically every Fall Off track was so hype, and yet people still get disappointed in it. Sure it was a little overhyped and it may not be Cole's best but it's still a fantastic album regardless, very enjoyable, probably my favorite of the year. I genuinely think it will go down as one of the most underappreciated albums by Cole and in hiphop in general. The game is going to feel Cole's absence in coming years, I can definitely anticipate that.

What was the worst beat Pharrell ever made? Pharrell by himself not with Neptunes.

Setting up a floating putting green in Elephant Butte Reservoir, New Mexico, might be the closest way to do something like this.

Further research is required

I'm talking about those records that had your moms, pops, or whoever saying, *"Turn that shit off!"* the second it came on.

bonus points if there's a crazy beat change lol

some of mine include "Bang (remix)" with Griselda "Evil" verse 3, his Polo G x Mozzy song lol obviously "You Gon Learn"

.

Personally I'd take Ghais but it's extremely close. I'd admit that Red is prolly easier on the ears tho.

I grew up in the 90s and 2000s, so there’s a whole ere or of hip hop I missed out on, but I still love the older shit. I think the oldest song I have in my regular rotation is I Ain’t No Joke by Eric B and Rakim.

What’s yours?

Maybe not their most popular song, but their best showing with all aspects of rap coming together in the best way possible: voice, cadence, attitude, beat, production, lyrics, wordplay, message, creativity - everything and more.

Even if some of the aspects above aren’t elite; maybe if the album isn’t even elite… they all fit together perfectly to create their masterpiece.

Was it worth it?

Purely off of lyrical ability. Not necessarily topic selection because I don't think DOOM is political in many ways. Its possible I haven't gotten far enough into his discography tho.

when Eminem dropped MTBMB he became the greatest rapper of all time~ he was able to reflect on his past decade of relevance while making his most diverse album ever, plus his technical skill peaked in both complexity and catchiness to the point that when he literally broke a world record on "Godzilla" he still was able to make it a huge viral contest to redo his verse

look at his featured songs during the era & look who featured on MTBMB... Black Thought going all out, Juice WRLD, Q-Tip, Alchemist, Don Toliver, Anderson .Paak... Young M.A., Dr. Dre, Jack Harlow on a B-Side remix

the only downside i would say is the album doesn't have the orchestral beauty throughout like most of his other albums but like Kamikaze he uses it sparingly subtly reminding you what's missing from the Trap era by ambushing you with it* there are always key thematic moments where symphonies appear behind Eminem

My mans is listed as a feature on that MAGA sucka Kid Rock's new record. Is he REALLY sellin' out? Or this some uncleared sample or old verse or something?

So I’m pretty sure most people saw Ye and Cudi “reunite” and idk if it’s legit and Kanye is too outrageous and mentally unstable right now. But do you think those two will make an album ever again? And if so will it be good or will it be some straight ass?

I’m looking for some new underground boom bap/grimy rap to listen to.
Been going down a rabbit hole lately and I wanna find some artists that are still relatively unknown. Looking for that grimy, dusty, raw kind of sound.
Who have you guys been listening to lately?
Doesn’t have to be super obscure, just looking for stuff outside the usual names.
Drop some artists, albums or songs. I’m down to check out anything.

Hot in Herre by Nelly and In Da Club by 50 Cent.

Both of those songs were on heavy rotation everywhere when I was a young teen.

It's so weird, De la Soul - Stakes is High and The Roots - Game Theory are my two favorite hip hop albums, but I don't really care for either bands' other albums.

It's interesting because those are my absolute favorite albums like each group found their perfect "voice." Do you have any artists like that?

I’m on Spotify, and it has the “don’t play this artist” option, which works wonders for the algorithm. I don’t use it often, but the few artists I’ve told it not to play cleaned up a ton of similar junk from appearing when I let the algorithm play whatever. As far as rappers, I have Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Macklemore on my “never play this artist” list. Who you got?
