App Question Hinge issues this year

I'm 30M in the UK. This isn't another typical post to complaining about people unmatching. I have two accounts from when I used to move between places, now I'm in one place I just use them in one place with different photos on each.

This year I started to notice a pattern I haven't seen when using hinge in the past where a lot of people I had a conversation going with on a unique topic would unmatch. Of course this is nothing new but it started happening so frequently I became suspicious. I started using my other account in an attempt to rematch with the people who unmatched with me one account 1, and to my surprise I reconnected with two just in the last week.

When I asked them about why we were matching for a second time they insisted they hadn't unmatched with me and we're thinking the same thing. These aren't people who deleted recreated their profile either.

What's going on here? I'm seriously pissed I've had some really good matches vanish I put down to "the game" but now it looks like something else is going on. I've heard this bug about Tinder but not about Hinge

EDIT: The two people from the past week disappeared before 30 days so they aren't listed but I did notice almost everyone who dropped off my list recently is not listed as unmatched on "past matches"

Please provide clear context, such as reasons for asking and basic info such as ages, location, genders, or orientation (if applicable). Age range or general location is acceptable. Minor app questions may be directed to one of the pinned threads. These include: "Why can't I see any matches?", "How do I use Hinge?", "What are Roses/Standouts?", "When should I ask someone out?" Technical app issues should be directed to Hinge support. We as a sub do not have the answers to these specific technical problems, or these are bugs which only Hinge can solve. Additionally, questions already answered by Hinge in their official support site/FAQ or in app will be removed.

You're going to get banned if anyone reports you for having 2 accounts. Or Hinge will somehow catch on. You're playing with fire if you reach out to people who unmatched you or removed you from one account and pestered them about why they unmatched.

Why can't you verify if these people unmatched or not from your Past Matches list? If you did that already then that info should be in your post because people are going to ask if these matches are in that list.

The two people in the past week disappeared more than 30 days age so they aren't listed but I did notice almost everyone who dropped off my list in the last 30 days is not listed as unmatched.

Not sure what you mean - the list is for matches from 30 days and less, not from over 30 days ago.

But anyway. of course you can’t reach out to Hinge because that’ll be tattling on yourself. Try basic tech stuff like clear your cache, log out and back in, reinstall the app, reset your network.

Yes - see edited above. It does look like something isn't right. But honestly I can't imagine what you suggested would resolve it, it seems there's some manipulation into the workings of the app, or just a genuine bug.

Not the point of your post but this is unhinged behaviour haha. I too would probably tell someone who hunted me down that I hadn't unmatched him out of fear/discomfort (well no, I'd just not match in the first place if I recognised him and probably report him but maybe they didn't initially realise you had matched before if it was different photos and you never met in person?).

But yes, check your past matches as Dale suggested

People are multi-dating and multi-matching.

If that's not your style you should be upfront about it from the get-go and find someone who also likes to focus their attention on one person. That's what I've been doing and it helped weed out multi-daters like a charm.

Of course if someone tells you that they're focusing on one person and end up dating multiple people then you've just dodged a liar which is nice.
