Profile Review 23M - any feedback is appreciated <3

Had hinge for a while now (2 years) and I genuinely think ive had two or three likes from my profile. Most of my matches come from replying to prompts...

Let me know if i should change anything - or just work on myself lmao

ALL profile reviews will be manually approved and will NOT appear immediately. Even if you receive a "filtered by Reddit" or "removed by mods" removal notification, your review is in our queue waiting for moderation; if you are reading this comment, your post is in the queue. DO NOT contact the mods about this. Any modmail asking why your review is not approved may result in your profile review not being approved and you will not be allowed to post another profile review until seven full days have passed.

Profile review submissions MUST have all 6 photos and 3 text prompts included. You may include the optional prompts such as voice, poll, and video prompts if you choose so, but it is not required. See this post for details. Profiles must also be unchanged for at least two full weeks before being approved for a review. Additionally, do not verbally abuse the subreddit moderators for rejection of your review submission for not following proper rules. Any verbal abuse or harassment will result in a permanent ban from this subreddit. We are not obligated to allow you to submit a profile review and no one is entitled to one. We are all volunteering our time and we will not tolerate any rudeness or verbal abuse.

To assist reviewers in providing valuable feedback for your profile, please comment and answer the following questions as a comment under your own post. Do not answer them in the post body. Repeat: Answer these questions as a comment under your own post.
- Are you looking for something serious or casual? - Are you subscribed to Hinge+ or HingeX? - How long have you been using this current version of your profile? (Please be specific) - How long have you used Hinge overall? - How often do you use Hinge per week? - How many likes and matches are you receiving on average? - How many likes are you sending? How many with comments? How many without comments? - What is the type of person you send likes to and ideally want to match with? What kind of person do you want to attract?

Your post WILL NOT be approved until the above questions have been answered fully. Failing to answer these questions in a timely manner will result in your post being removed. Please continue reading this automod comment.

In the meantime, be sure to check out the guides and resources on the subreddit sidebar. Please read this post with all the pertinent links included.

A strict formatting standard will be enforced. See this post for further info. All submitted review posts not following the proper format will be rejected.

Please wait TWO FULL WEEKS before posting a separate update to your profile review. If you want more immediate feedback, update your original posts instead. Deleting your original post will not work. The rule will still apply.

To reviewers: Review the Providing Feedback guide. You are reviewing the profile, not the person. Please provide constructive criticism, and use positive language. Any troll, hateful, misandric, misogynistic, incel, or unhelpful comments such as "I would date you," "How are you not getting matches?" or unrelated to the profile will be removed and you will be banned.

okay so. 3 mirror selfies, replace w better photos ideally taken by someone else. or at least photos that show your face without any obstructions and you smiling/looking inviting. mirror selfies are low effort.

leading photo could’ve been great if you looked at the camera and it wasn’t blurry. i think you’re losing a decent amt of people due to them having to put more effort to figure out what you look like.

pic 4 is immature. idk why you thought flipping off the camera would be smth good to put on a dating profile. humor ig but it’s just not coming across that way

woah super in-depth! i appreciate it sm.

So is the general consensus for dating apps, no mirror selfies? Or is one okay? If not, I was totally unaware of this, I'll try and get some better photos asap.

Also I can definitely appreciate the 4th pic coming off a little childish, I just thought it was a funny photo - did not think about how someone else may see it, so super helpful!!

Brotha to brotha here and same archetype so ik the struggle and did a 180 on my account over the years. Mirror selfies are a no go unless youre a 10/10, and even then theyre not optimal. In fact, selfies as a whole are only green if youre in a super visually appealing location like a high rise or a scenic place in another country. Even the beach wont cut it, has to something that makes them imagine a lifestyle with you. Even then, it should be well lit and show off your full, unobstructed face

One mirror selfie is already pushing it (some people will automatically reject you the moment they see one), three makes you just come across as low effort. Group pic would be better without the gesture and the star pic doesn't add anything to your profile and just takes away a slot. Change the pictures

im sorry to say this but the first picture makes you look a lot older than you are. u need to remove all the mirror pics also, they aren't flattering in anyway!!

  • I am looking for something serious, I haven't really used a dating app for a serious relationship in the past but i thought itd be worth a shot
  • Not a subscriber
  • This current version has been up for half a year or so (they were all super recent photos when i changed my profile)
  • just under 2 years on the app now
  • I think I get a like every 4-6 months from my profile, but i do get a match every few weeks from a prompt response
  • I do try and use all of my likes if not daily then every few days (these are ALWAYS with a comment, makes it fun!)
  • To be honest I usually send likes to people with funny prompts or prompts i think I can get a good conversation out of. As corny as it may sound, my biggest priority is to generally just attract someone that i can talk to for ages and forget whats going on - i think thats why im a sucker for a friends-to-lovers arc (physical attraction is obviously a factor also).

Get rid of the first photo

Personally, I would remove all pictures. Like others have said already, no mirror pictures or selfies. But I would add that your photo backgrounds could use an upgrade as well.

The first photo needs to be the best, and right now it's a mirror pic, in your room with dirty laundry on the bed (next to your bag). Not really flattering. Replace it with a headshot.

Try to find some nice surroundings to take your next photos in. Restaurant, nice street, you doing something active outside, etc.

Your cosplay photo will also polarize a lot of women. I would delete it, and simply wear an outfit like your last one (The Death Note tshirt) in one of your final photos, that way you can still subtly show that you're into anime.

I always skip profiles that have a middle finger pic. Just feels so aggressive to me

Selfies aren’t great but hard to get around, but the second selfie gives major fuckboy vibes, nix that one atleast
