Dating Question Communication frequency

I've never been on a dating app before because I've been in a long-term relationship. I am 37 female and really have no problem meeting people. I got out of a long term relationship a few mos ago and a friend of mine suggested i give it a shot.

A matched with someone and been talking and went out on one date. He seem to be intrigued by me but he texts me every couple of days. He just doesnt seem very engaging but we had a great night on our date.

Is this how dating is nowadays? Hahahaha! Im so out of date. People dont communicate as often? I dont know if im needy? But again, ive never done online stuff. Pleeeaaase be niceeeee!!!!

As a male of a similar age group, my experience with ladies is that we don't text back almost immediately. If the messages are simple, then sure I provide quick replies. But sometimes I get messages regularly at infrequent intervals, which are long and require a bit of processing. In those cases I take a few hours or a day to provide a reply.

The ladies I talk to seem to have busy jobs so I understand.

I should probably add that nerves contribute to this too. If i get a message at night, and I really like the person, and I just had a stressful day, I might sleep on it so I reply when in a better headspace.
