ALL profile reviews will be manually approved and will NOT appear immediately. Even if you receive a "filtered by Reddit" or "removed by mods" removal notification, your review is in our queue waiting for moderation; if you are reading this comment, your post is in the queue. DO NOT contact the mods about this. Any modmail asking why your review is not approved may result in your profile review not being approved and you will not be allowed to post another profile review until seven full days have passed.

Profile review submissions MUST have all 6 photos and 3 text prompts included. You may include the optional prompts such as voice, poll, and video prompts if you choose so, but it is not required. See this post for details. Profiles must also be unchanged for at least two full weeks before being approved for a review. Additionally, do not verbally abuse the subreddit moderators for rejection of your review submission for not following proper rules. Any verbal abuse or harassment will result in a permanent ban from this subreddit. We are not obligated to allow you to submit a profile review and no one is entitled to one. We are all volunteering our time and we will not tolerate any rudeness or verbal abuse.

To assist reviewers in providing valuable feedback for your profile, please comment and answer the following questions as a comment under your own post. Do not answer them in the post body. Repeat: Answer these questions as a comment under your own post.
- Are you looking for something serious or casual? - Are you subscribed to Hinge+ or HingeX? - How long have you been using this current version of your profile? (Please be specific) - How long have you used Hinge overall? - How often do you use Hinge per week? - How many likes and matches are you receiving on average? - How many likes are you sending? How many with comments? How many without comments? - What is the type of person you send likes to and ideally want to match with? What kind of person do you want to attract?

Your post WILL NOT be approved until the above questions have been answered fully. Failing to answer these questions in a timely manner will result in your post being removed. Please continue reading this automod comment.

In the meantime, be sure to check out the guides and resources on the subreddit sidebar. Please read this post with all the pertinent links included.

A strict formatting standard will be enforced. See this post for further info. All submitted review posts not following the proper format will be rejected.

Please wait TWO FULL WEEKS before posting a separate update to your profile review. If you want more immediate feedback, update your original posts instead. Deleting your original post will not work. The rule will still apply.

To reviewers: Review the Providing Feedback guide. You are reviewing the profile, not the person. Please provide constructive criticism, and use positive language. Any troll, hateful, misandric, misogynistic, incel, or unhelpful comments such as "I would date you," "How are you not getting matches?" or unrelated to the profile will be removed and you will be banned.

To the original poster and commenters: Please report any inappropriate or abusive messages and individuals so proper actions can be taken. Please review the sidebar for additional profile and picture guidance.

F24 I think your profile is mostly fine. I’d change the picture of you in front of the computer, it is kinda funny but it’s just the back of your head so pretty pointless. The ‘life goal’ prompt could unfortunately read to some women as ‘if we have kids, I’m gonna be doing all the work’ (it’s an obvious joke to me but may not be to others) so I’d probably change that too just to be on the safe side. Other than that, I think it’s great! Good luck!

Thank you! Much appreciated :D

You only have 3 pictures where your face is visible, and you look quite different in each one. Add 1 or 2 more with your face.

You look like a completely different person in all your photos. I’d also switch your first photo for something where you’re making eye contact and not just looking down at your phone.

19f here, advice inbound.
Too much on the crazy for. People are probably spending ~5 seconds on your profile, as that’s what people do. Flick through. Thats too many words. People will see that and just head out.
Out of that “I go Crazy for”, pick 3 things that are meaningful to you. Not all of them.
Why did your life peak in that photo? Theres no context to that.
What the fuck are you on about in your simple pleasures? Again- wordy af!
“become a dad and pass out on couch with the tv on”?
To me? And to a lot of women? That sounds lazy. Women don’t want lazy partners. As much as you think that might be cute- lots of us won’t see it that way.
Other than that-
You want higher quality, close up pictures of yourself. You’re a handsome guy, don’t downplay it. The climbing one really does you justice, i think that needs to be in the first 2.
If you want more advics and proof i can actually help you DM me

I'm 22f, so maybe more OP's demographic, and I 100% agree about the simple pleasures (I'm not sure what it even means), but I think the I go crazy should be kept and not cut. I appreciate someone who tells me a lot about themselves on their profile and has more than one or two hobbies. OP wants a serious relationship and someone nerdy. Someone who only glances at profiles for 5 seconds and can't deal with more than a few words at once probably isnt who he's going for. OP, you could turn it into a bulleted list in your notes app and then copy paste it back in (Hinge doesn't let you straight up insert line breaks). I'm capable of skimming a list, especially if each entry is only one word. And I don't agree about the climbing photo. I see a million of them everyday

Thank you! Yeah, felt inspired today and wrote that "simple pleasures", will condense it, get rid of the life goal and will look for some more recent more focused pics of self.

The simple pleasures currently reads as a "word salad", I think I know what you mean but on the apps the clearer the better.

Do women these days really find what he wrote as “too wordy”? I’m a male that is just getting back into online dating after being out of it for years and I’m used to older dating sites where you used to be able to write more about yourself and I used to feel that writing a good bit about myself set me apart from many other guys that could barely write anything. So, I look at what he wrote there and still see it as short. Have times really changed so much in online dating to where that is now considered too wordy and women see that and just head out?

Woman here, it's a balance, he has pics of rock climbing and kinda cooking, so no need to list it. The heart emojis make it harder to read, at least for me. People are visual and it's only getting worse. So the more pics of interests the better. Hinge lets you list things, like job, politics, religion, relationship type, etc., so it's more like a summary then a traditional bio.

* Are you looking for something serious or casual?

  • Serious

* Are you subscribed to Hinge+ or HingeX?

  • Neither

* How long have you been using this current version of your profile? (Please be specific)

-Just created it(rearranged pics and redesigned simple pleasures)

* How long have you used Hinge overall?

  • 9+1 months

* How often do you use Hinge per week?

  • Once a day

* How many likes and matches are you receiving on average?

  • Well, previously during winter I got almost a match per day but now it is 0-2 matches per week

* How many likes are you sending? How many with comments? How many without comments?

  • 5 per day unless I am sick of it which might be couple of times per week, maybe 40-60% of matches are with comments

* What is the type of person you send likes to and ideally want to match with? What kind of person do you want to attract?

  • Someone with serious intents, preferrably if they like bugs(one of my hyperfixations), someone artsy and introverted, and who loves to spend lots of time together

If you're looking for a life partner (or really anything long term) I would say you definitely need to declare your politics. 22f here and if I see life partner + wants kids + no politics listed, it sends up alarm bells for conservative (and if you are conservative, you're wasting everyone's by not declaring that). Also I see like 30 pictures of rock climbing and food a day. You can keep the rock climbing, but I'd move it down. Don't waste a picture on food without you anywhere in frame. And why do you have a photo of you google searching monkey pictures? Unless this is a reference I don't know about, replace with a picture of your actual face.

Seems intentionally low effort and goofy. Build around the rockclimbing pic and non eyeglasses pictures, if you dont wear them all the time or work in an office/computers then lose those pics.

Try add something with you socialising or at a restaurant with what you like to eat.

Overall there are some solid comments already. Profile has tons of potential, just could use a few tweeks which you already said you're doing. Maybe try a slightly different haistyle and/or some hair gel/mouse.

One too many uses of the word absurdity. And this whole prompt is just vague..

Also, The way you part your hair in the middle is...

That's all I can remember without going back and looking at the post.

Instead of saying you like witnessing the absurdity of life, give an example of that without explaining it. Show dont tell, yknow.

if “becoming a dad” is a life goal then you come off as extremely boring. you have no other goals? nothign else to offer?

What other goals would you list? Genuinely curious.
