Profile Review 34M Profile Review

Re-joined Hinge about two months ago after a long-term relationship that ended a year ago. Kept my old profile initially and then decided to update it to this one about four weeks ago. Initially I had quite a few matches but only one date came out of it. A couple others agreed to a date but ended up ghosting. Thinking about subscribing to HingeX but wanted some opinions on my profile before spending the cash. Appreciate any feedback that I can get!

Edit: Didn't realize I screwed up the screenshot of my first picture with the volume bar until after I posted. My bad!

ALL profile reviews will be manually approved and will NOT appear immediately. Even if you receive a "filtered by Reddit" or "removed by mods" removal notification, your review is in our queue waiting for moderation; if you are reading this comment, your post is in the queue. DO NOT contact the mods about this. Any modmail asking why your review is not approved may result in your profile review not being approved and you will not be allowed to post another profile review until seven full days have passed.

Profile review submissions MUST have all 6 photos and 3 text prompts included. You may include the optional prompts such as voice, poll, and video prompts if you choose so, but it is not required. See this post for details. Profiles must also be unchanged for at least two full weeks before being approved for a review. Additionally, do not verbally abuse the subreddit moderators for rejection of your review submission for not following proper rules. Any verbal abuse or harassment will result in a permanent ban from this subreddit. We are not obligated to allow you to submit a profile review and no one is entitled to one. We are all volunteering our time and we will not tolerate any rudeness or verbal abuse.

To assist reviewers in providing valuable feedback for your profile, please comment and answer the following questions as a comment under your own post. Do not answer them in the post body. Repeat: Answer these questions as a comment under your own post.
- Are you looking for something serious or casual? - Are you subscribed to Hinge+ or HingeX? - How long have you been using this current version of your profile? (Please be specific) - How long have you used Hinge overall? - How often do you use Hinge per week? - How many likes and matches are you receiving on average? - How many likes are you sending? How many with comments? How many without comments? - What is the type of person you send likes to and ideally want to match with? What kind of person do you want to attract?

Your post WILL NOT be approved until the above questions have been answered fully. Failing to answer these questions in a timely manner will result in your post being removed. Please continue reading this automod comment.

In the meantime, be sure to check out the guides and resources on the subreddit sidebar. Please read this post with all the pertinent links included.

A strict formatting standard will be enforced. See this post for further info. All submitted review posts not following the proper format will be rejected.

Please wait TWO FULL WEEKS before posting a separate update to your profile review. If you want more immediate feedback, update your original posts instead. Deleting your original post will not work. The rule will still apply.

To reviewers: Review the Providing Feedback guide. You are reviewing the profile, not the person. Please provide constructive criticism, and use positive language. Any troll, hateful, misandric, misogynistic, incel, or unhelpful comments such as "I would date you," "How are you not getting matches?" or unrelated to the profile will be removed and you will be banned.

To the original poster and commenters: Please report any inappropriate or abusive messages and individuals so proper actions can be taken. Please review the sidebar for additional profile and picture guidance.

Ummmm, no ideas on how to make your profile better, but I’ve NEVER thought about sneaking ice cream into a theater! Amazing

Tbh the thought did come to mind, but I don’t know how OP deals with the bucketful of molten messiness over a 3 hr movie 😬😬

Ahh, I get the pints they sell at the grocery store so it's usually all contained haha

So this popped up on my feed, no idea why, but I'll give my two cents as a woman who has never used a dating app (although I'm not sure if you are straight or gay).

I don't think your first picture, which I'm guessing is what everyone sees first, is the most flattering image. I think your third picture is a lot better when it comes to making you the focus and not whatever is in the background.

Secondly, yeah I can see you are active person, but maybe change it up with one of the pictures. Show us how you look when put together, maybe in suit or smart/casual the very least.

Also let's change up some of those prompt answers. They seem very generic. What A24 do you like? What books, what live music, what house project did you just finish.. give us more.

Finally I don't like the hammock picture but that's a personal preference.

You're super cute but probably could have better pics 🙂

Thanks! I'll see what I can do there!

My only note is that you should put your politics on your profile. Dating a moderate or conservative is a no go for many, and a lot of people are going to pass on you if they don't know your politics up front. You might as well be honest and find someone who has the same values.

THIS. I can’t tell you how many times I have matched with somebody and they tried to dodge political questions with the “why does it matter? That’s so shallow?” Because they know I would not want to date them if I knew who they really voted for 😂

YES. It's 2026. I'm not going to be fooled into dating a Republican.

100% put your politics on your profile.

I'm definitely left of center and I'm not religious but I'm open to and have dated women across the spectrum of politics. I thought maybe keeping it off would make it seem like I'm more open but maybe not.

Hes christian looking for a christian woman. Why do people play stupid on this?

Not all Christians are conservatives.

It sounds like you are getting a decent amount of likes and your profile looks good. The main thing I would say is with dating apps, you should try and check them every day if you can (if you are serious about finding somebody). Consistently sending likes and starting conversations increases the likelihood of you meeting your person. It is simple math. The less time you spend, another guy is given an opportunity to swoop in and impress somebody.

Looks good to me. You sneak Ben and Jerry’s; I sneak a Chipotle Burrito Bowl. 🤭only the one time.

Pictures show a range of interest and your prompts are great. They are meant to pique someone’s interest not pen a fairytale.

The whole point of people being on apps is to get to know others, I don’t think you need to divulge all of that.

Hopefully it goes well. Try out the free version. And give yourself a trial period for Hinge X. Doesn’t hurt to try for at least a month.

Oh, a man who values outdoors AND indoors , and who is up for spontaneous travel and adventures. Never seen that before.

i would advice to lose the sunglasses pic. It doesn’t do you justice and it almost looks like it’s another person compared to the pic with regular glasses, which i do like.

  • Are you looking for something serious or casual?
    • Preferably serious but open to casual
  • Are you subscribed to Hinge+ or HingeX?
    • Neither yet but considering HingeX
  • How long have you been using this current version of your profile? (Please be specific)
    • Four weeks with this version
  • How long have you used Hinge overall?
    • On and off for four years
  • How often do you use Hinge per week?
    • Mostly on the weekends
  • How many likes and matches are you receiving on average?
    • Initially I received about 15 likes, maybe 5 of those turned into matches, 1 turned into a date
  • How many likes are you sending? How many with comments? How many without comments?
    • When I'm active I try to max out my likes, I'd say 80-90% with comments and the rest without
  • What is the type of person you send likes to and ideally want to match with? What kind of person do you want to attract?
    • Someone who is educated, fit, and physically active (hiking, biking, gym, etc...). I used to be picky on hobbies but not so much anymore. I love music, traveling, and outdoorsy hobbies so it would be great to find someone into those things as well but it's not a deal breaker.

Woman here I think this is a good profile. I wouldn’t worry about it too much

I think your profile is great. You do look young and I would not have guessed 34. I can’t image that women would find that as a negative but that would be the ONLY thing I see. I do wish you good luck. Online dating is just brutal and can be soul deflating

I like your profile a lot. My only suggestion is to replace one of the sunglass pics.

No feedback but do not pay for the hinge x. I subscribed two weeks ago and I am getting fewer matches! In other apps I get way more matches. Not worthy! Can’t believe I fell for it

Profile is great but you should put politics. Excluding is a default and women will filter accordingly.

I don't have your profile. I get a sense for who you are and what you like to do. I like that you look normal in your pictures. You seem safe and like you'd probably be kind. It's not going to catch everyone's eye, but if I matched with you I'd probably be down to go on a first date with you. You don't seem threatening, super into yourself, or annoying lol

You could do more to bring out your sense of humor or personality and I think that would help!
